Did Ferrer make any sense in his interview with Courier? I have the tv muted and am reading the subtitles. It makes no sense to me.

Not the intention but Kyrgios's words were actually pretty patronizing lol. He meant it in a good way though.

Would have preferred to see some guys he actually played important matches with (only Fed there, filmed recently in Melbourne though) The ATP usually put a good tribute video together so maybe they will do one.

Hewitt said that he didn't understand Ferrer's english during their handshake so you're not alone ;)

So the only active players who won a Slam are:
The current top 5 (big 4 + Wawrinka), Del Potro and Cilic.

Players born in 1981 (Federer), or 1985-1988.

Would've been funny if they got Sampras and he said "You killed S&V mate."

1. One immature comment

2. Wimbledon

Which one is more significant?

A pattern of immature comments = a character issue, one of which is racist in nature. But go ahead, keep being a token apologist for your binky. I'm sure you'd readily dismiss Serena and Kyrgios' bad behaviors as one-offs as well. Then again, I'm sure you're too lacking in integrity to admit what you are doing considering the man your defending. But please, I look forward to the mental gymnastics/deflection I'm in for in your reply.

He said that years ago and regrets it... let's run him out of town!

Brb, getting a pitchfork...

If by regretting it you mean flat out denying it and accepting zero accountability, then yes, he "regrets" it. Couldn't even finish my first reply before you proved my point with the mental gymnastics

You're overreacting.
He was young and immature - you can see clearly that he's a nice guy 99.99% of the time. Nobody's perfect.
It sounds like a misunderstanding anyway - what is with this sensitivity these days?
Anything to bring people down.

Actually I think I've engaged enough with the PC Brigade for one night - just calm down.
I'm off to bed, tonight has been more than emotional enough. :)

See you tomorrow folks.

Didn't really have the history with Djokovic as he did the others...arguably didn't have huge rivalry with Murray either but Australia, UK, Commonwealth...drawing a long bow...

He played many more matches with Djokovic than Murray - he's only played Murray once in singles.

If nothing changes in the next 2,5 years (so nobody new wins a Slam until the 2018 US Open) there won't be a single active Slam champion in his 20's. Crazy prospect.

Definitely crazy prospect...have to think highly unlikely though...then again hard to see any non GS winners seriously challenging Djokovic for at least next 18 months...still need another 12 months on top of that though

This was my feeling also. The natural thing imo would be to hear from the top players of today (big 4) as well as one or two that perhaps had some form of special relationship with him.

Yeah in reality Murray & Djokovic became powers when Hewitt was crippled by injuries so regardless of match ups wouldn't consider either having much of a rivalry with him. Like I said Murray was possibly chosen due to Australian connection with UK & possibly he was bigger Hewitt fan growing up than Djokovic.

Who knows really?!?
