This is kind of my point. Its already been stated that he's been ill so why mention it again in the speech? I dont know, Federer fans will obviously see it differently but i find it a little classless. I do feel like altho no player will outright say that, the phrasing of things is obviously bitter. Remember when Djokovic said something like "i allowed Federer to play" or something, the implication being if he was at his best, he wouldnt win. I felt like thats what Federer did with the re- mention of the illness

Yeah, well, it happens. Whether on purpose or not. I remember Fed's speech from the Dubai 2012 final, and he didn't mention Murray at all either. I do agree that they should at least acknowledge their opponent.

It's ok - RAFA sometimes forgets to mention the runners up when he wins trophy after trophy.
Of course, you learn more in a loss to a top player than winning against lower-ranked players.
That's why I believe yesterday was RAFA's greatest learning experience.
And we all know that more learning = greater preparation.
