Argentina are the greatest tennis nation to have never won this old cup. Losing the finals in 1981, 2006, 2008 and 2011.

Croatia meanwhile won in 2005, Ancic and Ljubicic inspiring them to glory. Will Karlovic and Croatia patch things up and get a recall or would it be best to stick with Coric anyway?

You definitely want Karlovic to play over Coric. Karlovic will be hard for anyone to beat, including Delpo, but even if we assume Delpo wins 2 singles matches (not close to a sure thing because of Cilic, never mind Karlovic), Karlovic will still be way tougher to beat than Coric for guys like Mayer, Pella, or Monaco.

Coric is having knee surgery and is out for the rest of the season, but hopes to be back for the final.

I was only being half serious when I said Karlovic could come back, but apparently he is. There has been issues in the past hasn't there, he didn't just retire like the article states?

Have they decided on the surface? If it's HC indoors, JMDP will be grooved and dubs will become critical FTW. Without the dubs point, Ivo vs Pella/Delbonis may decide the title. I don't think Argentina can rely on Mayer for repeat heroics...he is outside the top 100 and losing badly in Challengers.
