Wow! I just saw Laura Robson's name on there. She plays Rybarikova first round. If Laura gets past she then faces new Aussie sweetheart Daria Gavrilova. On a side note, Daria was given an entry to the San Antonio tourney but I'm guessing she's going to be a little busy in Cali...

Vika/Caroline likely in the 3rd. Those two can't ever stay out of each other's way, but Vika has won the last 5.

pretty clear what the tour is hoping for now after this disastrous day

Serena-Venus qf to wipe out another disastrous day with a feel good story

Y'know with Sharapova out with a ban maybe, the French Open could have a new slam winner.

Indian Wells organizers should've given a doubles wildcard to Dellacqua/Barty. Doubt they'll be playing, Barty's ranking would be somewhere in the thousands but Dellacqua is 4th in the world! As a partnership back in 2013 they reached 3 grand slam doubles finals!

Edit: Barty has played some ITF tournaments lately and her doubles ranking is in the 400s. She won an ITF title and reached another final.

  1. Serena - would normally win but the week will be too emotional with Venus rejoining her and memories of her own return last year
  2. Kerber - absolutely no chance in hell. Stinking it up and is now in career party mode after AO.
  3. Radwanska - Possible semi-finalist. Good draw.
  4. Muguruza - Absolutely no chance. Bad Draw.
  5. Halep - Will lose most likely third round
  6. Suarez Navarro - No idea but interested to see how she goes.
  7. Bencic - QF where she will lose to Azarenka
  8. Kvitova - Absolutely no chance
  9. Vinci - First round exit
  10. Azarenka - Winner

Yeah, you're putting WAY too much stock into her Doha loss. "Stinking it up" pretty much just shows you're gonna hate her regardless.

"Stinking it up" might be too strong a term. Not a hater but not a big fan of her losing all her momentum since AO. Just reeks of party mode IMO...... It's not just Doha. Fed Cup was only so-so, too.

Azarenka kinda injured her wrist during Mexican Open.Has she fully recovered in time for IW?

Watson wins a long first in the breaker. Voskoboeva is crazy skinny, looks like a taller Pironkova.

Voskoboeva just won her first main draw set since January '14 due to injury. She literally does not have a ranking.

By Vania King... smh

Vania King isn't beating Townsend.

Townsend is beating herself. I'd say she is probably 30 pounds overweight. She is not able to get to balls she should otherwise be able to get to. She is also late getting into position and preparing. Also having problems getting low (bending the knees) to pick up balls.

If she doesn't lose the weight, she's going to quickly go the way of another Taylor. Taylor Dent.

Who's in love with the Coco.

The last time I watched CoCo was when she beat Stosur at AO a few years ago. Was way ahead and started over-celebrating before the match was actually over and then nearly dropped the second set. She managed to right the ship and close the match out in straights but it was touch and go for a while there.......

Feel bad for Crawford/Kovinic, there may be all of about 20 people in the 16K-seat Stadium 1. Not a real good look for the sport.
