for me Keys is like Li Na 2.0, big talent but little brain. And that probably explained why Max Eisenbud signed Keys when she was still relatively unknown, he might have spotted a younger version of Li Na in her and bet one day Keys will become a slam champion.

Madison is such an infuriating player. I always feel like she has so much potential talent physically. She has really clean ground strokes and a really good serve. She moves real well for her size as well. But she has the brain of a jellyfish. Just whacks at the ball as hard as she can regardless of the situation so any player with a bit of craft just draws an endless amount of errors from her. If she could learn to take just a bit of pace off some of the time she could be so much better.

Li Na was like Albert Einstein compared to Keys. Seriously, Li Na was a much smarter player. Na's problem was that she didn't have the proper support behind her from the Chinese government and she became disillusioned. If she had proper support and coaching when she was younger she could have won a couple of more slams.

I agree Li Na was a pretty smart player. Her other biggest problem was always aiming for the lines, even though she wasn't realistically good enough to hit them consistently. Even against a great defender or someone who could match her power she foolishly stuck to that plan. Had she reigned in her own game just a tad, while still hitting very hard and playing aggressively, she could have won a couple more slams.

What I don't understand is why Keys keeps spraying in spite of putting work on the ball. Does she have to go for so much on every shot? Surely there's a slightly lower gear that lets her stay in rallies and still produce a heavy ball?

Maybe Azarenka heard me saying that she looked like a clown with those enormous Beats she was wearing in IW. You have the money to spend so at least get some headphones with good sound quality and don't make you goofy.

I'd be shocked if she wasn't getting paid to wear the Beats.

Kerber's 2nd serve is getting crucified. She should have taken something off her 1st serve and tried to get more in (although then Kerber might even have her 1st serve attacked).

Yay Vika! Great match once again between these two. Vika is in such good form now. I hope she wins the IW-Miami double and a slam or two this year.
