Will try to watch Hingis and Bacs if they're on a televised court. Scheduled for 4pm which is a little over an hour away.

It seems that the matchup issues Cilic has with Djokovic even extends to doubles, even though Djokovic isn't quite the same if you put somebody on the same side of the court

Oh My God, Djokovic trashed someone in doubles for the first time ever. Still his volleys are cringe worthy.

Great win for Garbiñe and Carla, Garbi was playing inspired tennis today. Possible QF against Makarova/Vesnina.

For the ladies

I have mixed feelings on the Williams loss. It really stinks for Venus, out in the first round of both singles and doubles in what is likely to be her last Olympics. Plus it's a huge blow for team USA obviously. However...I'm happy for Safarova and Strycova. They are both good doubles players and got a really horrible match up and rose to the occasion...Safarova has dealt with a lot of issues over the last few years so a win like that has to be confidence building.

Now all the pressure is on Coco and Bethanie in doubles for the Americans. Bethanie however is a proven champion in dubs so here's hoping they can pull it off against the #5 seeds. I think they are in the easier overall half though so let's go girls

Looks like lots of doubles going on tonight.

Watson / Konta lose in 3 sets to Chinese 3rd seeds. That's all 3 GB doubles teams out. I read it's likely to be Jamie and Konta in the mixed. Could have 2 teams, but Watson may not be seeded highly enough.

Johnson / Sock won their 2nd round earlier, as did Bautista Agut / Ferrer, and Nestor / Pospisil.

Nadal / Lopez take the first set over Delpo / Gonzalez.

Djokovic / Zimonjic up against 3rd seeds Melo / Soares later.

Re Watson- that's a shame, as generally she's the better doubles player of the British women.

Beware of Mattek-Sands/Sock. Both have won Slam dubs titles.
I agree. I don't think the ladies will handle the Sock forehand very well. Or the Nadal forehand. I don't watch a lot of mixes, but I think that dynamics should be really interesting. I'd guess that if the female can't hold her own against the male enough or if the male is too passive at net, you're gonna be toast

But they got a touch draw. Andy Murray is no joke in Dub. And if you get pass him, you are rewarded with possibly going against Mahut.
the polar opposite of a cakewalk draw.

Andy's playing? I though the plan for GB was to go Jamie/Konta and Andy/Watson?

I'm confused

Apparently (just saw draw including first names) it's Jamie Murray. That's weird, as I think Andy should be a way better mixed doubles player, despite being less experienced.

Maybe they'll decide 5 minutes before the match which bro shows up
