We should all write in :D

It worked when they hadn't planned to broadcast Federer-Wawa v. Lopez-Nadal (NOW ALSO OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALISTS IN DOUBLES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH) at IW, and then they did.

just a little upset, they were on the air since 11 this morning, so I'll give them credit...couple nitpicks..missing live points for studio chatter..and even though the Keys-Kerber match was compelling, they could have switched to a little more Kei-Gael at the end while the ladies were still nowhere near done

Rafa's been on Bravo so much this week they should make him an honorary housewife

Now Nadal just has to win one match out of two to guarantee himself another medal, bringing his tally to a whopping THREE.
And then if he can just secure TWENTY-FOUR more after that, he and Phelps will be in a DEAD HEAT.

It's harder (and plus I'm sure he doesn't care) -- because in tennis, you have to play your opponent(s) as well as fight the elements and conquer your own mind, and in swimming, your only opponents are yourself & the elements.

MEDAL CEREMONY PLS

LOL,, Sock is destroying 100 mph forehands right at the girl player..............she is lucky she still has her head attached
Just took a peek at mixed for about the second time in my life... something kooky about how every other point has a male raining down 135 mph bombs against a female player. Saw a serve kick above her head and she was lucky to frame it into the net.

my bad about the Phelps no medal comment above, actually finished in a 3 way tie for second!...got a silver medal...didn't look like that to me, he had to rally and I switched channels quickly to the tennis

Phelps must spit on silvers

Watching Sock and Mattek-Sand, I noticed there's no USA team uniform. Not surprising, given that they're pros and have endorsements (or not) from different companies. USA Track and Field has some sort of deal with Nike whereby the track team is required to wear the official NIke uniform, even if the athlete is sponsored by someone else (Suacony, Brooks, Asics, for example). But, they can still wear their own shoes.

Congratulations to Nadal and Lopez. :) That was very tight towards the end, very emotional win. You can see how much it still means to Rafa, he has won his second gold medal and becomes one of the most decorate athletes in tennis Olympic history.

Congrats to Marc Lopez, he is now a tennis legend, shoulder to shoulder with another doubles gold medalist legends from open era, like Roger Federer, Nicolas Massu, Sebastian Lareau, Mark Woodford, Ken Flach, Robert Seguso ... Great company for him, indeed!

It's great to see how much it means to Rafa to win with his friend.

I don't think you can blame the Olympic organisers for the schedule. It's down to the ATP schedule. The players are are all off to Cinci as soon as they've finished, and those carrying flags asked to start on Sunday, not Saturday. The weather hasn't helped, because a rest day isn't quite as valuable if you spend it hanging around, wondering if you are going to play.

The slow surface is something they could have considered. The quarter finals were all long, even the ones in straight sets.

It's especially harder because in swimming you can earn about 17 medals per olympic edition. While in tennis it's only 3 max.

Incredible - Gold in singles and doubles!

If he gets the Gold in singles here in Rio, then he'll just need one more AO to complete the Double Career Golden Slam - which is pretty awesome if you think about it

Nadal crying after he wins a historic gold medal with doubles partner and good friend Marc Lopez. Best moment of the Olympics so far.

How moving! And how nice it is for Rafa to now boast gold in BOTH singles and doubles. He'll be remembered as king of the Olympics as well as King of clay!! And .... Still more to come:)

To be fair, I wouldn't give him that moniker unless he wins the gold medal in singles again. Because if Murray wins the gold in singles again, then he will have a strong claim for that also, because remember Murray has a silver also. And lets not forget Massu, who won back to back Gold medals in less than 24 hours. But I think if he outperforms Murray here, then yes, why not? :)

Murray has a silver? I thought he got gold in 2012. I favor Rafa over Murray this week but you're right, if Murray wins again, he'll be entitled to that claim. Spoke too fast I guess
