Another scintillating rally! This time Nishioka is successful with his own BH DTL.

Nishioka hitting the forehand with more topspin than the backhand it seems.

Chance to break here for Goffin.

edit: he's got it. Will serve for the set.

Nishioki impales himself on his racket and he's dead... no, no he's OK, but Goffin takes the set.

Both guys awful so far. 5 winners to 25 UFE for Nishioka, 8 winners to 24 UFE for Goffin.

The real challenge on feeds will be Thiem vs Zverev from China Open which starts in 1 hour 20 minutes.

Goffin with a break chance here. He's been Federeresque with those today; just a 3/10 conversion rate.

Nishioki (from a very technology rich country) looks up at the sky and shakes his head when Hawkeye clearly calls a ball in.

Goffin missing so many break chances. Starting to look Swiss out there. :D

Rocket forehand from Nishioka. Flattening it out finally after throwing topspin at him all match long.

Lots of great rallies in this match; a pleasure to watch. Sadly Goffin is almost a Servebot in comparison to Nishioki.
Some entertaining shotmaking for sure, but a lot of errors thus far too.

Goffin with 9 aces, 4 doubles, 69% first serve won, 54% second serve won, 27 winners, and 36 UFE.

Kyrgios beat Berdy twice this year. If he gets hot with his serve he's hard to beat. Ninja makes a lot of sense as he's having a great year and has won this event several times. After going three sets with Young, Nishikori needs to pull it together as his draw is probably the toughest in the tournament.

True I suppose but that's a big if that he gets hot enough with his serve. Don't really know what to expect from him. I'd say someone like Cilic is a more solid choice. While Nishi's draw isn't easy it's not insurmountable. Cilic in the semis seems the tough one assuming he gets there. Goffin is a solid player but Nishikori in decent form should be able to take care of him. Then probably Monfils/Kyrgios/Berdych in the final he would probably be favourite against any of those. Personally I'd love to see a Monfils-Nishikori final had a couple of great matches this year be nice to see another one.

Guess there's probably an element of hope for young players to make in-roads as well so I expect that's part of people's motivations too for picking Krygios.

Kyrgios faced no break points against Harrison today, winning 79% of his first serve points and 73% first serves in play. Broke Harrison 3 times today and did a surprsingly good job on first return points. Kyrgios steam rolled through the draw in Marseille with this serve. Hopefully he gets Monfils in SF who has a great first return. Kyrgios going for his 3rd title of year.

Pretty impressive that, Harrison not the sternest test you're going to face so that takes the pressure off, but impressive nonetheless. Yeah I remember Marseille but how often is that really going to happen. Didn't face as good returners as he could potentially face here but he has to be a contender. Him and Monfils and Nishikori and Cilic would be a couple of very interesting semi-final match ups for sure.

Kyrgios managed to start the match with 17 1st serves in a row. When he has rhythm, he's pretty much unplayable on serve. More so than most players I've watched. It's not only speed, but really good placement, and he mixes it up well.
