Shot of the Year

Match of the year: Fed-Cilic. Mainly because it occurred in a GS.

Shot of the year: I nominate Murray's shot to save SP against Nishikori at 6-5 in the 1st set tiebreak for the Japanese at the WTF

Best slam: Tough one, as the slams haven't really been great this year. I nominate Wimb simply because, among the 4, this one has been less bad.

Moment of the year: Murray snatching YE no.1 from the hands of Djokovic after Nole had twice the amount of points Murray had just 6 months ago in the final match of 2016.

nadal first pump celebration at the Olympics semifinal vs delpotro while 5-6 down(if I am not mistaken) after he won a point to go 0-40: up on del Porto serving for the match

is the celebration of the year
#pureepicness

Raonic/Murray definitely has recency bias going for it but I'll second that nom. Also, puig for moment of the year for sure.

Djokovic/ Nishikori Rome, Wawrinka /Evans USO, Murray/Delpotro DC.
Djokovic-Nishikori at Rome was a great match, I'll give you that. Nishikori couldn't have played any better and yet he still lost to a pretty sub par Novak that day.

But the quality of play was great.

I think it would be best if we stuck to last year's template. ;) https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/2015-ttw-awards-nominations-thread.549241/

Moment of the year - torn between Novak's NCYGS and Murray's usurping of the #1 ranking
Best forehand - Novak I guess

Shot of the year - I'd agree with your pick

Best slam: Aus Open
Best moment: Puig winning gold in Rio, Murray becoming year end number one, Kerber winning the Aus Open. (I'd say Kerber or Murray becoming number one but they didn't get to play the match where it would determine number 1 ranking, Kerber got it when Serena lost in the USO SF and Murray got it when Raonic gave a walkover.)

Shot of the year: Flipkens behind the back shot! Google it if you haven't seen it!
Worst sportsmanship: Kyrgios against Zverev.
Most improved player: Pouille.

That's true but it was the WTF final that determined who would end the year as number #1. If he had lost to Djokovic, he would have lost the number #1 ranking.

Hence me saying Murray getting year end number 1 ;) cause he was playing for the ranking. I love those matches where it's like 'whoever wins will be number 1'. I so badly wanted a Serena v Kerber USO final where the number 1 ranking was to be determined but just wanted meant to be.

I want to nominate @Sysyphus for prediction of the year who predicted about a year ago that Andy Murray would be YE#1 this year.
I don't remember who it was... but the prediction of the year hands down was the guy who said that Kerber was ready for a slam before the Aussie... what happened since, who'd have thunk

Why even bother

Everyone knows that the Nadal is the winner of all the criteria available

On a completely unrelated note, we should also add the criteria 'Most Beautiful Player', and 'Most Humble Player'.
