Pretty sure Fritz won USO Junior title last year. Maybe we'll have to wait for USO. Sampras was 19 when he won it in '90, and Fritz will be almost 19 this year.

At this Wimby final, something different would be nice...
USO he'll likely have a good shot at. Murray's not nearly as good there so there is always a spot up for grabs there. It would be pretty amazing if he makes a deep run there (especially at 18!). His serve and forehand are great weapons, but a lot will depend on how well he improves his weaknesses now.

He's certainly jumped into the top 100 very fast! Will likely end the year in the top 50 as well.

Liam Broady, Dustin Brown, Radek Stepanek, Alex Ward and James Ward have been given main draw wildcards. 3 more still to be given.

Ed Corrie and Lloyd Glasspool have been given qualifying wildcards. 7 more still to be given.

Lol...he still made 2 finals (and won 1 of them) and a semi!

Not so sure. The Memphis final is becoming a distant memory.

Very much depends on what he does on the American swing. Needs more than just a serve and forehand really.

Where he is currently ranked, even one good performance in a major event would cause his ranking to shoot up...

As for what you asked before, Seppi, Brown, Mahut, Verdasco, Rosol could all be tough guys to face in the first couple of rounds. Dimitrov's likely going to be seeded! Even Zverev seems quite close to being seeded now.

Dangerous unseeded players?:
Dimitrov (lol)
Brown
Fritz
Baghdatis (may have gotten seed with QF at Halle?)
Seppi
Stepanek
Johnson (still alive at Queens for seed)

others?

Mahut, Rosol, Verdasco, and Zverev. Agree 100%. Mahut was unfortunate to have to win his final and then play the very next day at Queens. Might have taken Murray out of the tournament if the organizers weren't rigging match times for Murray.;)

Concatenating everyone's suggestions so far we have the following floaters some of whom might actually end up seeded:
Dimitrov (lol)
Brown
Fritz
Baghdatis (may have gotten seed with QF at Halle? Still alive)
Seppi
Stepanek
Johnson (still alive at Queens for seed)
Mahut
Rosol
Verdasco
Delpo
Zverev (still alive at Halle)
Any British player? (Bedene, Edmund, etc.)

Dimitrov obviously the one to watch here.

Actually it is a bit of a bummer when a player has won 1 tournament and then has to play the very next day in another. Mahut could have skipped Queens and played in Eastbourne next week instead or skipped s'Hertogenbosch in order to be fresh for Queens. But I guess he likes to play both and took his chances. He was unlucky to have drawn Murray in his 1st round match. A kinder draw could have easily seen him progress.

Not that anyone asked but here's my take:
Dimi - agree with LOL
Brown - Yeah!
Fritz - I thought was already seeded?
Bags - would love to see
Seppi - same
The Stepana-Worm - create a special category
Johnson - dang he works for it
Mahut - can play great, why always low rank?
Rosol - his own thing
Verdasco - keeps going and going like a Timex
Delpo - a floater? Get outta town
Zev - yeah we need to see that hair a lot more
Brits - we're talking Konta Watson Broady correct?

2nd match on and I guarantee if the roles had been reversed it wouldn't have been that way. Home field advantage.

Fact of the Day. Nishikori is finishing this week with 4155 points. If Thiem wins Halle he will be at 3425 points, 730 points behind. With Wimbledon weighting Thiem would also get another 750 points for his win. Unfortunately, Ninja's performance in the past two Wimbledons and last years grass events exceeds Thiemerer, so its impossilbe for Thiem to catch Nishikori. Thiem will pass Gasquet for 7th seed with a Halle win (Gasquet has huge points from Wimby SF last year.) If Raonic wins Queens at the same time he would still be behind Thiem in the rankings, but his SF from two years ago would put him ahead of Thiem and possibly Nishikori too. Its all really a moot point as seeds 5-8 are paired against 1-4 in the QF brackets randomly.

Berdy with his early round exit in Halle is out of running for a top 8 seed. He'll have about 250 points to add to his score from previous Wimby showings. Berdy's QF at Halle gets him up around 330 points, so Berdy is under 3300. Thiem is a little less than 3500 currently well clear of Berd brain.

Public votes can help in that case. Federer would have a lot more votes if the voting was based on who would one want to win.
I voted for Stan :p

Might have gotten a little carried away there.

I do remember Fed last year had close to 70% votes in the Wimbledon '15 final poll. So, I guess we'll see similar results if Fed does actually do well enough in the tournament.

Looking at how well he played against Murray in the semifinal while Djokovic was just ok I am not surprised. That Wimbledon though marked the beginning of peaking in finals tradition for Novak. :)

Brown, Fritz, Mahut are all no's from me. Others maybe but probably 2R exits.

Aslan Federer needs to come out to this Wimbledon with a special Nike white fur coat. A wooden racquet would be a great addition to the whole Narnia fantasy.

Conversation over.
Thiem is gaining steam. Beautiful match against Gabs today. Saved from going two breaks down in first set from 15-40 and then just took off. Broke excellent form Gabs in 14 minute game and then won first set. 2nd set was an absolute clinic. Gabs could only get 8 points the entire set (4 on the one game he held at 5-0). Thiem was impenetrable. Served over 70% first serves for the match and 0 DFs (26 DFs for week in Stuttgart.) Thiem won 92% of his first serve points in the 2nd set. With this match I think it can be said that Thiem loves grass. Thiem did not expect this and was 2-6 career on grass just 11 days ago. Its amazing to watch the entire Thiem bag of tricks in play. One of his drop shots today looked like it glued itself to the grass, lol. The power and grace is staggering. Thiem slides like a professional dancer on grass in perfect balance at all times. Whispsers of a young Amadeus of grass begin.

I was a 100% sure that this would never happen. Thiem winning tournaments on grass? What's wrong with you?! Yes, turned out reality sometimes is better than imagination. :) I hope he continue his flow, would love to see another deep run of his at a GS.

The LOL after Dimitrov's name needs to have been written like this: ROTFL!!!!!!

Underlined, bolded and italicized. The only way Dimi is winning Wimbledon is if he enters the draw for the women.

Haha, so he's just a floater then. I'd like to see him float Murray's way.;)

He's got Mayer tomorrow who was an ace machine against Seppi and took Fed to two breakers in Stuttgart. Interesting to see how Thiem fares against a more classic grass court game. 16 Aces and 0 DFs for Mayer. Another dangerous floater emerges.
