2016 WTA Premier Sydney and WTA International Hobart

Thanks, now those of us that still care about Hobart & Sydney will continue without you.

You aren't the Hall Monitor of this thread. I can post my opinion which is that the winner of Hobart/Sydney will matter little for the result of the AO. You think Kuznetsova will win the AO?

Cornet throws down a double breadstick on Larsson to set up the Hobart final against Genie tomorrow.

Bencic got bageled in the first against Puig & quit.
Did Bencic tanked? I saw her practising this week, and I must say, she had a bit of Princess syndrome. Very lovely gal and was very nice to the kids, but she had very short temper and not a great deal of paitence.

I didn't get to see any of it, but she tweeted this after.

She looked fantastic against Stosur but that might've been because of her opponent. I'm surprised how easy it's been so far for Kuznetsova.

Are we going to see a doube bagel ?? Biggest waste of money ever spent my first time watching tennis live.. 50/50 good n bad experience

Bty, to anyone making fun of Halep, she was a work horse during her time at the Sydney open. Was there on Sunday and Monday (both 35c+ temperature). She was the hardest working WTA players I saw on the practice courts (time and intensity). She was a true pocket rocket!!

I missed the whole thing due to time zones. I was happy to see a Kuzzy/ Puig final. Either would love to win a title and don't have to worry about exhausting themselves because they aren't going to win AO anyway (Kuzzy is talented enough, but is upper management at WWWH, so....).

I'm totally not surprised at the result. Sometimes I've seen Monica play and gotten very excited about her future, then the next time I see her...pffffft. I really like her, and she is young, so hopefully she sorts herself out.

This is the post I had an issue with. Now you're just backtracking.

My opinion of Kuzy's AO prospects are completely irrelevant to this thread.

But it's the truth that for the elite players, Sydney is a non-event. You saw it very clearly especially amongst the WTA players who all withdrew with some mysterious "injury" and even though Bernard Tomic is a complete idiot and what he did by retiring in Sydney was disgusting, he made his point loud and clear: Slams matter, the rest are second fiddle. It's the rarefied few top players who can go out to these lesser tier events and pretend they mean something and be professional. That's the way it is.

Jesus, you are insufferable.

Vika won Sydney in '12, who won AO that year? Li won in '11, how'd she do at that year's AO? Petra & Aga won 2 of last 3 years, are they not top players either? Just stop.

This is not 2012 and Vika and Li didn't play Sydney this year did they? THIS YEAR Sydney means absolutely nothing and is not a predictor of the AO winner in any way. Just like for the men the winner of the Sydney event will mean squat for the AO outcome. Small minds and all.

Again, you said "Nobody cares about this non-event." That is flat wrong. The #2 player on the planet cared. The winner & runner-up cared. The posters on this thread cared, which is really who you were originally attacking. Admit your original post was an idiotic troll attempt & move on.

If you hate these tourneys, leave this thread. Not one single poster has agreed with you in any way.

Ok, five people on the internet care about this event. ;)

The #2 player on the planet cared.

That's because Halep can't win the big ones. Nor can Kuznetsova.

The winner & runner-up cared. The posters on this thread cared, which is really who you were originally attacking. Admit your original post was an idiotic troll attempt & move on.

I wasn't attacking the posters on this thread. I was stating my opinion that Sydney this year is a non-event and means nothing for the AO.

I won't leave this thread. If you don't like what I have to say, there is something called an ignore feature. I don't care if anybody agrees with me or not.

Cornet had a walkover in the quarters & won in 55 minutes in the semis, so she was just incredibly fresher. Genie also referenced some personal problem from back home that morning.
