OMFG Vania King you choose today to make your comeback?! I'm glad for her but this sucks! :( It's a good thing gambling is illegal here. I would be broke. Thanks for organizing Boozyuzi.

No I was just watching Fognini in TTC and they pop in and out with match point. I had no idea she had been injured, just saw her ranking had fallen and assumed people had figured out her game.

Edit: I almost didn't pick Barthel because I've seen her choke before but Vania hasn't done anything in a long time.
 
only 4 left :eek: I believe the key to play WTA SDL is not to win the grand prize, is to advance beyond the first couple of rounds. So the strategy should be safe picks on Williams, Sharapova, Azarenka in the early rounds to bank 200~300 points and then you will end up in the top tier.;)

I think that would glean enough points, possibly to finish top ten, but not top 3. You need the odd win, and more importantly good showings (semi/final) at at least two of the majors. An indication would be if you look at the performances last year.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.
Having said that, given the point system has changed (I've not looked at it), you might be right.
 
Oh no! Forgot about this one. Did my day 3 pick Kuznetsova win? Please tell me she lost. Losing is better than forgetting to make a pick!

And of the 4 left, 2 of them are using free passes!

Indeed. Just saying the carnage has been even worse than it looks.

Although I must say, the free passes are a bit depressing when you are on the losing end of every tournament. It kind of reminds me of how I found the game of monopoly depressng as an adult. Make me wanna holler.

I agree that some of the top end players should be used in the early rounds like Sharapova or Radwanska. Keep Williams for the final and maybe Vika for the QF plus. The middle seeds in the WTA is a bloody minefield and can't be relied upon to beat a damp paper bag. This way you can see how the draw shapes up after the first 2-3 rounds and maybe pick a player whose draw completely collapsed and is in some form.

Of course I failed to follow my own advice and lost in R1.

I don't know but this Konta girl seems playing very well at slam events, I think it might have something to do with her service ball bouncing, slow motion esque, it could annoy the hell out of her opponents.
