Poor Halep is having a rough day dealing with this awesome Kvitova.
It's scary to think what a consistent Kvitova can do.
It's unbelievable how good she can be when she's in the zone. She's underachieved given her capabilities. What is her problem? It's like she picks one or two tournaments a year to show up at and at other times she's like some dazed phantom.
I wonder if she's just too nice a person? She doesn't have that killer instinct day in day out, that others less talented than her have, but have achieved more.I think she realized she was about to end the season without winning a title. Seriously though, Petra is an enigma. I don't think she has a coach at the moment too.

I think it's a factor. I have never seen her give a bad handshake when she has some really bad losses. She's also a bit one dimensional. No plan "B" so to speak.
But there's much more to her game than, say, Sharapova's. When she's playing well, everything seems to go in: drop shots, forehands on the run, lobs, you name it - she did pretty much everything this week. I would say she's the most talented of the power players (excluding perhaps Serena). Great hands, unlike Sharapova or Keys.
At their best play, I'd say she's about level with Williams, and the added advantage of being a lefty. BUT she doesn't remotely come close to Williams mental strength, and when things are going really badly for Williams she nearly always finds a way to win. Kvitova in similar situations generally folds, even from a winning position. She possesses so much talent but lacks a steel trap mind that the great champions have, even if it didn't come naturally to them at first ie Navratilova. But there's much more to her game than, say, Sharapova's. It seems to me, and I'm not saying I'm right, but Kvitova is a player that depends on confidence, but her confidence is so brittle that it can be shaken. Williams takes to the court knowing she's the best, even on the rare occasions she loses, I imagine (and she's said so herself after some losses) that it's about her bad play rather than her opponent. She has supreme confidence in herself. And that's got her through matches where Kvitova would already be on a flight home.
It's a shame with all her talent, but she seems happy enough and maybe winning isn't the be all and end all. Maybe that'll make for a healthy and happy life when she hangs up her rackets. I hope so.
