If Goffin wins, @Meles will remind you that, "Speed kills!".
You should flip flop to your backup if you really want to save the best player for later!![]()
There are four undefeated players in '17 left in the draw; I used one yesterday (Monfils) and will now use my R16 pick and go against the second one, leaving GOAT and BabyGOAT for when I'll need them.I think that you should join the Young GOAT train for R16!
This suggestion has nothing to do with the fact that you are the number 15 in the ranking and I'm the number 14![]()
Oh man, you're right... then it's only fair and consistent to eliminate @AustinTx24. It is kind of embedded in the rules actually - the Back-Up is used when the original pick wins via a W/O (before the SFs) or when the original pick withdraws.
I'll spell it out as one of the main rules in the OP for each tournament going forward, seeing as this is the second time this has happened (and I forgot about it).
R16: Tsonga
Back up: Wawrinka
Just been playing around with the numbers - all sorts of possible ranking scenarios at the moment considering the number of people who are through, so the last few rounds will be crucial. Final opportunity for save picks as well for those who have them.
Gotta love the Slams.
I can't believe this many made it this far...the next few rounds will be a bloodbath among us all though haha.
Best of luck peeps...if I fail here I'll just cower in the WTA SDL HAHA
I understand there's been quite a large exodus in the WTA SDL - well done for surviving that minefield lol.
Tbh, we could have a bloodbath at any point, we could all end up playing safe and running out of picks, or we'll end up with 20+ champions if all goes well.
R16: Raonic
BU: Tsonga
May change!
Looks like I'm out! Even though I can't remember how, I picked Tsonga twice. Even though my backup choices went through, I'm out, right?
QF picks are going to be fascinating. Roger and Rafa are definitely the wild cards.
Definitely speed kills. Desperate times for Gnana.Might as well just use Murray up.

I'm not sure who to pick for the QFs. It's hard with Murray and Djokovic losing. My picks were based on them getting to the final. I will just wait till the rest of the R16 matches are over. Damn you Murrovic!!
Atleast you have a plan. Unlike me. I have no idea what to doI wanted one particular result today and I got that - so I'm still feeling reasonably confident about my chances. Very interested to see who fills up the QF spots in the bottom half though, as I need one more result to happen to put my plan in action.

Don't worry. This is only my third QF appearance at a slam. I have reached the QFs/SFs of other tournaments though.Yeah me too. My hypothetical path has been utterly destroyed.... Not that it matters though, as I never progress beyond QF/SF anyway!

Really? I have the whole tournament planned out already. I know who I am going to pick till the final. Assuming everything goes to plan![]()
It was true. I had planned to pick Federer in the QFs expecting him to lose to Djokovic in the SFs. I picked Murray in the SF which at one point in the match I thought he would lose but anyway I saved him for the SF expecting him to get to the final and lose to Djokovic.Interesting... this was you on your title run last year...![]()
Just sticking my nose in here in the SDL (even though I'm not participating) because I thought it might be getting interesting with Murrovic out!
I think it's interesting that not many people have been knocked out. Clearly it's because Djoko and Murray got knocked out SO much earlier than expected, so it didn't cause as much damage as it could have. So...what say you? I will be watching your picks.![]()
