2017 ATP Sudden Death League: Davis Cup

Damn, had I really thought amor y paz was shutting it down for the year, I wouldn't have picked France so early.

SF: SERBIA in a UUUGGGEEE upset. Troicki and Lajovic make Serbia great again.

I don't see Troicki listed as a nomination for team Serbia. That could change, but right now it looks like Lajovic and Djere are the two singles nominations for team Serbia.

This is me right now:

Ya well given some of the people these french guys have lost to this year them losing this tie would in no way surprise me

Oh yeah, that's why I said, Jo don't let me down. I know that team is shaky at best, but having already used Serbia, and Australia/Belgium really seems like a toss up, I don't have much other recourse. I'm thinking since the rubber will be played in France on outdoor clay, surprisingly, that would favor Tsonga in his singles matches, and Pouille is a solid clay court guy too.

Without looking, didn't Pouille beat Djere in the Budapest final???

A big jeer for Djere, losing in straight sets to Jo Ali.

I'll settle with 1-1 in Day 1. Will need some dubs magic to pull this off now.

2-1 leads for the Aussies and the Frenchies....odds favor them completing the wins tomorrow. I think at least 6 of us can still win?

Epic comeback from 2-1 down in the tie and Belgium reach their 2nd DC Final in the last 3 years.

15 knocked out in the Semis (I think)

The Finals will take place in France on 24-26 November, following the conclusion of the World Tour Finals.

FINAL:

France vs. Belgium

Looks like I will be taking on @Big_Dangerous and @TheMuzziah (who both have Belgium left as the Final pick) - game on!

Another quick note:

Our next tournaments will be the China Open and the Rakuten Japan Open, and they will start on 2nd October - I'll put up threads for those by the end of this month.

And finally: congratulations to @gn who is our 2017 US Open Series Winner for cumulative points across Washington, Rogers Cup, The Real Slam and The US Open.

Standings for US Open Series:

1. gnana prakash - 1,490 pts
2. JadeC - 1,390 pts
3. Krish872007 - 1,260 pts
4. kvejkr - 1,250 pts
5. I Am Finnish - 1,150 pts

France wins the Davis Cup!
It's a wonderful addition to my collection, really pleased to navigate this entire tournament to become only the 3rd SDL Davis Cup Champion ever (only other 2 were in 2015). End 2017 with a title (title #3 for the year) and add some more points to the buffer. Kind of ironic that my solo run is at a team event

Thanks to everyone for participating in the SDL 2017 - the season is now officially over!

Also kinda funny France wins after I trash talk them so much.
