Trying to do my best. I'm horrible in the WTA SDL. Can't get more than one pick right.

I have one slam, one masters and one 500. Need to vulture a 250 to complete the set. Those seems to be the hardest to win because of the MUGS.:D

I struggle in the 250s and 500s for that same reason :D Won a Slam, some Masters and the coveted OSG so not all bad
Clay season should be an interesting one

Looking forward to it. What's the first clay tournament? MC, Estoril or some other one?

So Monte Carlo will be our first official clay court tournament (though there is the DC Quarter-Finals the week before that for those still alive in that one), followed by Barcelona, either Munich/Estoril (new this year), Madrid, Rome and Roland Garros - ending with a bang on 11th June. Not much respite, because after the RG Final, we head pretty much straight into the grass season with Stuttgart, Queen's & Halle and Wimbledon. Quite a packed schedule until July

Nice. Please scrutinize the players list before making a decision on Estoril/Munich. Lets go for the one with fewer mugs. I was in Lisbon in February and Sousa's pictures were everywhere(posters for Estoril). Nice city but a lot of rain during our visit.

Golden rule for the season ;)
Yep, very nice place (as is Lisbon) - I was there last April/May and got a bit luckier with the weather. Hopefully we get a few Top 10 players participating in at least one of the tournaments else we'll be left with a tough decision as to which one to pick

Fingers crossed. At least we'll always have Thiem if all else fails.

LMAO - Munich it is, then (though I'm also hoping for "real" Top 10 players to show up there too)

Are you implying Thiem isn't a "real" top ten player? I think Delpo is playing Estoril. I will check the tournament websites for their entry lists. Maybe I can provide some guidance.:D I'm sure either one should be okay.

Well I have reached my second final of the year and both times I have run out of picks.

Good start to the year for me getting to the final of the Australian open after winning it last year and now reaching the final of Miami. I also had a couple of decent tournament runs in February. Even though I won the Aus Open last I think I have started off the season better this year than last

As far as I know
Munich: Monfilsh, Zverev
Estoril: Kyrgios, Gasquet, Del Potro

Yeah I think the thing with Miami and Indian Wells is, because the seeds all get a bye you are left with lots of unpredictable first round matches.

Dimitrov knocked me out in round 2, if he wins that and it's probably a totally different tournament for me. But on the other hand some people who got through and then as a result can relax and make more picks with good players and not being playing catch up SDL! So I think once you get to the later round anyone can play well when they are relaxed.

Thanks. It's unreal this run I'm on.:D Must admit not picking Federer early was due to cowardice not bravery (at least from the QF). Glad it paid off.:p

You're starting to sound like Fed himself now :D You're now No. 1 in the Race - this is quite remarkable
Perhaps what's more incredible is that you and Fed have almost the exact same number of Race points

Haha. You don't say! I think I've earned the right to be arrogant. Maybe I can do like Roger and just sit out the clay season so the rest of the tour/players can catch up.:D My brain needs healing. Lol. Just going to enjoy it while it last. Still remember those early exits.

Bizzare tournament the only plus being I have no points to defend for the rest of the year!

So watch out for ark28 making a run at some stage.

I think the Davis Cup QF ties will be taking place next weekend, so I'll be bumping that thread on Wednesday to allow those remaining in the tournament to make their picks.

The next official tournament will be Monte Carlo later this month to mark the start of the European clay swing. See you then!

And apologies for not addressing this earlier: I'll have a think about how to best resolve the issue with picking a player who ends up playing a different opponent to the one scheduled due to withdrawal. Will get back to the relevant people on this issue next week
