I may post a comment. Just read and move along rather than trying to censor people's views.

Right, I am going to attribute this tantrums to some sort of end season madness and just temporarily ignore you then. And it’s not censoring, it’s just trying to stop this crap being shoved down my throat in every single thread, related or not related to that kiddy tournament.

You are a bundle of joy arent you?
:p

I’d say something but you’d probably whine about it for weeks, play the victim card yet again (does anyone buy it anymore?), and just report me to mods or threaten to leave the forum again, desperately looking for some attention and sympathy.

Hehe, its that playing a victim card saying that?

Its tennis, not life or death;)

I was just having fun.

Ill probably watch your idol live in the weekend.
You sound fun, wanna have a beer w me after the match? :p

Gosh I come back from the match thinking that Fed played really well, especially in the first set, perhaps not clinical in BP conversions but Sock played his part and didn't budge for a good hour or so. Then the amount of negativity in this forum...

Court also looks a lot faster live compared to on TV.

@Meles needs to stop making match threads for Federer matches. I try to stay out of his match threads. Between him and his pal, they just blather on non-stop, take digs at Federer or his fans etc. It's headache inducing. Good Lord!

How do you feel about Fraudr being censored?
giphy.webp

Did it get censored ? Did @Meles get a temp ban for that ? I was hoping he would get one since it was not fun after the first or second time.
No, no, no TA

Fraud erer was blocked see: *********. I got a temp ban for somewhat more mysterious reasons, but I'm sure referring to Fed by a normal part of the language, Fraud was not helpful as they could not block that lol. A bit surprised by the ban in the end, but I suspect it was the report button being used by the Federer light fans in for the weekend of Basel. I was even not trying to rub in the Paris withdrawal too much. Now I want to remove this Mannarino laughing avatar for one of Thiem as requested by a Federer fan and the blasted website malfunction appears to be blocking that lol. Now my support of the Milan rules seems to have you guys up in arms. I'm just the victim trying to put up the good fight for the rest of the tour against the hegemony of all things Federer.

^this. I have him on ignore and it's really annoying not being able to see the match thread.
And I tried to not create this match thread, but felt duty bound to put it up. Some Federer fans need to do some work around here. Today's match was close in the end and Sock played well.

So what reason was given for the ban ?

Federer looked great to me as did Sock. Match lived up to my expectations. If Federer had been off for this match Sock would have run ruff shod over him with the forehand. Sock is still in top form to my mind.

The courts do not look super fast which is a relief. Excellent speed for all of the players.

I probably have the exact wording, but won't put it out here. Basically something about a cooling off period between the fanbases. Of course no Fed fans banned to my knowledge. I am amending my ways and it certainly was not my intention to have the subject of Milan go crazy in this thread, but I will post my thoughts after every match as the comparison is very germane as WTF is the next obvious test bed for the Milan rules. Threads already exist over in General Pro on Milan. I'll probably do one at the end of the week once I've fully acclimated back to normal tennis.

Don't you think asking for a WC into ATP finals for the winner of Milan is a bit too much ?

Fed on that missed shot with Sock's back turned :)

LONDON -- Roger Federer was in jocular mood as he answered a question about Jack Sock's backside in a news conference after his 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory against the American.

The world No. 2's face had look pained during the match when he netted with most of the court open and his opponent -- having all but given the point up -- bent over and facing the other way at the net.

But Federer saw the funny side later: "It was a big distraction, I'll tell you that, because it [Sock's posterior] was very big. That's what I should have aimed for. That target was bigger than the down-the-line court that I had."

When Sock was asked if he was surprised Federer had missed that shot, the American responded that it wasn't the first time he had turned his back like that. "I did it more for fun," he said in his post-match news conference. "Probably do it three times a year. No, it's not a normal tactic."

I'll do a thread on it towards the end of the event.

By the way Federer fans Zverev has just squeaked out a victory over Cilic so they play in two days. @Pagoo and company the clock is ticking on making a thread. I probably can only hold on for only a few hours on this one.:D

Idk why mods get offended. I know you're usually spouting next-gen nonsense, but it is at least entertaining and good natured. Too many Fed fans are thin-skinned.

Federer is certainly slicing more against Sock, interesting how he will not use that slice against the other player in this tournament who also uses excessive top spin.

It's good tactics. Sock's forehand grip is full blown Western with a very bent arm and the elbow close to the body and follow through across the body... this combination makes it very hard to hit low balls. Nadal on the other hand who some say has almost a western (but closer to semi western if you look closely) has alot more elbow seperation from the body, straight arm, and a buggy whip finish which all work well against a slice even with his grip.

Watch youtube slow mo's of Socks technique and simulate it and you will get an idea of how hard it would be to hit sticky low bouncing slices. Federer is all over it!

Of course he doesn't. According to Meles, the new rules took all these mid-100 ranked players to new soaring heights of play. I distinctly remember reading the comment "contender for match of the year" from him once or twice in that awful Milan thread.

:confused: The lowest ranked player of the Milan qualifiers was Medvedev at 64 who sent Wawrinka packing for the season at Wimbledon.

So much better than any of the matches at WTF so far.

Remind me how many matches Wawrinka played after Wimbledon? Seriously, you're just embarrassing yourself. When I challenged you on your opinion of Thiem you referenced his win over Djokovic as if it was some remarkable feat, when soon afterwards the Serb had to end his season because of an ongoing elbow fracture, and now you're telling me I should be impressed by Medvedev because he was the last person to play Wawrinka before he had to shut his season down because he was so badly injured? There isn't a gif in the world that contains enough eye rolling to be used in a response to you, and trust me I looked.

Quite the burn on that one. You must be proud of yourself. What part of "sent Wawrinka packing for the season" eluded you. Wawrinka blows on grass and Medvedev was in fine form on grass coming into Wimbledon.
This is about like using Federer's knee as an excuse for his 2016 Auz Open loss.

I hope you continue being who you are!
When 9 out of 10 threads are about fedal wars its great with more of something else.
Some of these youngsters gonna deleop and win slams. New faces. People are so obsessed with their idols they get provoked by new ideas. Many of these will become bitter 90s clay type of posters when their idol retire, and we have to just live with it. Saying everything were better before. It has always been types like that in tennis. My dads generation are a bit like that.
Tennis been divided in two long time, some that are open and like the sport in general while others are depended on having strong idols. And of course the most fanatics ends up in forums like this.

The fact that you acknowledged it was Wawrinka's last match of the season doesn't make it any less stupid to use it as an example of one of the next gen final players being of some amazing standard.

Wawrinka and his team both spoke about the injury having been worsening for a while, even before the french open. Comparing that to a knee injury which Federer sustained after a match is ridiculous. You're lucky that stupidity isn't a bannable offence.

Ball girl grabbed the ball he was about to pick up and he waved his hands about and muttered something about the ball.

yes he was annoyed at that, then walked off moaning about it and then said something about his towel being slow to arrive and that the ball girls/boys not being professional...! Moody Fed!
