Baby being the key word here.
Not particularly no. I also don't think he reads the ball particularly well either. He looks no faster than your average top 20 player to me.
Ahh, the glorified exhibition line has appeared. About time.
Its not some boardgame to be played inside. Indoor tennis is not tennis.Indoor tennis is not real tennis, no?
Like yourself ?
I have to say i love this side of Dimi.
No mercy
He has a Raonic avatar, so his tennis knowledge is questionable at best
I watched Goffin closely in Tokyo, where he displayed enormous intensity and agression... Compared to that form he is at 20 percent at most. Shocking, pity, stupid, overwhelmed, whatever it is, he is not a shadow of what he was a handful of weeks ago.
Dani should also come to Mallorca with Dimi this time.LOL Dani. You need to take lessons from Tio Toni.
I kid I kidSo you think a player I enjoy watching and thus have in my avatar and my tennis knowledge are related? Curious. Tells me everything i need to know about your intelligence
Im gonna make a good use of that FH of yoursI'd push your serves back until you smash your racquet in anger darling
Federer v Thiem semi?
Any takers?
Yup, night and day. Goffin is one of those players that can be deceptively aggressive when he's at his best. He's lacking intensity in both his movement and his shots, probably due to the knee?
Dimi clearly a bad matchup as well; loves the Goffin balls and reads him well. Big enough first serve to dominate Goffin's poor first return. Goffin could break if he saw a lot of 2nd serves. Goffin's serve not quite big enough to expose Dimitrov return game.Yup, night and day. Goffin is one of those players that can be deceptively aggressive when he's at his best. Goffin is playing with that black knee straps on his white legs for weeks now, so I do not see evidence for such "explanation"... Interesting what he has to say after the match though.

Inverse correlation around here making Murray fans some of the smartest. And actually @Terenigma , I do think there's a correlation between tennis knowledge and which players you like, but my post had nothing to do with that.
Baby Fed eating Goffin up just like his daddy.
Fair enough, could be good old fashioned fatigue or just a bad day at the office.
I really think that which players you like depends a lot on how you look at tennis. Nadal and especially Federer fans are huge bandwagons, therefor the most casual and mostly have fans because what they do looks cool, so I don't consider the average Fed fan to be super knowledgable.Inverse correlation around here making Murray fans some of the smartest.
Or Thiem the next round. Would much, much rather have seen a three setter than this.Yes, and as another poster said the Davis Cup Final may also play a role in this; Goffin does not have that big of an engine, and he knows the china and tokyo wins took a lot from him, so he will want to get the tank refueled for that DC final next weekend.
@The Green Mile approved though he seems to be on the Fed bandwagon of late.I really think that which players you like depends a lot on how you look at tennis. It's more fringe players that have more knowledgeable fan, especially if their game is somewhat intricate rather than super pretty. Murray has this going for him as well, but if I had to name any player that would probably have the most knowledgable fans my best guess would be Gilles Simon

Goffin will be mentally spent after that Nadal match plus supposedly has a knee injury. Dimitrov is a better class of player as he showed in Auz.
Comfortable two set win for Dimi.

In regards to that theory this forum is a huge source of selection biasQuite a few outliers to your theory posting in this thread.
Yeah I'm obviously talking about averages. Naturally the most knowledgable fans are very likely to also be fans of one top player or another.I wouldn't say more, because if we go by outright numbers, there will be more knowledgeable Fed and Nadal fans than other fanbases. But you might be correct in saying that percentages of each fan base may see more knowledgeable fans for lesser known players.
Looks like no Back to the Future part IV tonight...
