this federer won't make it that farJust in after the incredible Stan-Klizan match.
This looks like a practise set in comparison. This Federer can´t possibly beat Berdych... or can he?![]()
Definitely this.People should lay off on Wawrinka. Did nothing wrong. It wasn't exactly the time to be nice with his shots.
And in that time Melzer won 22 of 29 points! Amazing stat.Federer loses five staight games from 3-1? I know he's rusty but jeez!
He could have lost in the first round in Brisbane but Perth gave him a chance to play three full matches. So that was a better decisionI think the decision to play Perth instead of Brisbane is coming back to bite Fed.
Federer won 16 straight points from the end of the 1st set to the beginning of the second, so...And in that time Melzer won 22 of 29 points! Amazing stat.
What was it? 4-5, 30-15 in the 5th...something like that. Who gives up on that point when playing for the biggest win in their life, when if they guess the right way they could stab a winner, or pressure the opponent into over hitting the shot? Wawrinka was very tense and it wasn't inconceivable he could miss if Klizan sold him a fake.He shouldn't have quit on the point, but it was because he knew Stan was going to put that ball away.
If you hit it that hard, you don't even have to aim at the player. How is Wawrinka to know what Klizan is thinking? That was a vital point, Klizan's shot went high, which gave Klizan an opportunity to take a competitive court position, which every other player ever to play the game at that level would have done. Instead...Klizan walks slowly towards the net, Wawrinka's watching the ball which he intends to absolutely crush because of the importance of the point, and Klizan's dopily not defending himself.
Maybe against Falla at Wimbledon 2010?When was the last time Federer failed to win his R1 match in straight sets?
Yeah but that's Federer. You'd expect him to be capable of that. Melzer otoh while ranked #300 is a different story.Federer won 16 straight points from the end of the 1st set to the beginning of the second, so...
Guessing Wimbledon 2010 against Falla. When was the last time Federer failed to win his R1 match in straight sets?
How arrogant from Fed to think he can get back into the groove by playing his usual schedule. If Federer loses early, he would still be rusty because his next tournament his Dubai in five weeks. Not sure about this comeback.
2015 Australian Open...no wait 2010 Wimbledon???When was the last time Federer failed to win his R1 match in straight sets?
wait seriously? jfcIf Fed loses here he's out of the top 32.
I think Wawrinka got a genuine shock when Klizan wasn't even contesting and the ball hit him. He assumed he still had an opponent in the point. It's beyond belief he didn't.If you hit it that hard, you don't even have to aim at the player.
I'm not saying he can't do it. But it was a dick thing to do
Fed's fine physically. He's just terrible. More terrible than I expected him to be, but I can't exactly say I'm surprised either.I just hope this is not because of another injury. His movement is not all that great.
He didn't have to be nice. He only had to hit a decent ball to win 100% of the time. This was a body shot for ****s and giggles, he was very lucky Klizan reacted that way.People should lay off on Wawrinka. Did nothing wrong. It wasn't exactly the time to be nice with his shots.
Means Fed must be playing badly. Not surprising, but a bit of a shame really. He'll lose a Slam seeding if he goes out today.Yeah but that's Federer. You'd expect him to be capable of that. Melzer otoh while ranked #300 is a different story.
Correct.Maybe against Falla at Wimbledon 2010?
He could have played Sidney though after Perth. He could have lost in the first round in Brisbane but Perth gave him a chance to play three full matches. So that was a better decision
Imagine if he hit Bendych - Bendy would have refused to shake his handHe didn't have to be nice. He only had to hit a decent ball to win 100% of the time. This was a body shot for ****s and giggles, he was very lucky Klizan reacted that way.
I doubt that. Pretty sure he'll be seeded for RG mate.Means Fed must be playing badly. Not surprising, but a bit of a shame really. He'll lose a Slam seeding if he goes out today.
It's not because he hit Klizant that he aimed at Klizant. I guess he simply aimed to hit it in the court, as hard as possible. Accidently hit Klizan, who for some reason didn't move anymore. He didn't have to be nice. He only had to hit a decent ball to win 100% of the time. This was a body shot for ****s and giggles, he was very lucky Klizan reacted that way.
Imagine he'd done it with Federer and how this place would go wild.Imagine if he hit Bendych - Bendy would have refused to shake his hand![]()
Federer is not terrible at all. Surely can play better but he can also play, and particularly serve far worse than that. Melzer is going %200 at him at the moment which is making a difference.Fed's fine physically. He's just terrible. More terrible than I expected him to be, but I can't exactly say I'm surprised either.
I guess too old isn't an argument that holds up in this particular matchupFederer getting bullied by Melzer at the minute.
Federer has more mileage thoughI guess too old isn't an argument that holds up in this particular matchup
Melzer is just more match tough. He went through the qualies after all.Federer has more mileage though![]()
bu buh butt but Milerer just doesn't have the same ring as ******* or GrandfathererFederer has more mileage though![]()
