Stan always gets the go-for-broke players in the early rounds. Last year he had Rosol, Delpo, Verdasco and now Klizan.
This has to be nerves can't be rust, the rust wasn't there at the Hopman Cup, Fed being really tentative in rallies.
How come you have been posting so rarely after 2009?Oh good he has 3 chances to fail to convert. Sighh
Melzer is actually a pretty tough first round opponent. He is much better than the ranking he has because of an injury.
Oh a lot more busy now a days and tbh I get tired of this forum at timesHow come you have been posting so rarely after 2009?
Melzer was an easy opponent for Fed 6-7 years ago. Look at their slam matches in 2010. Fed was in pretty bad form at Wimb and he still straight setted him.My eyes widened today when I saw Fed's "qualifier" was Melzer. A former top-10 player, leftie, and won his last match against Fed. So not your usual qualifier.
Very good stuff from Fed at the end of this set.
Stan saving energy for Wimb.Klizan breaks for 4-3 wow....
He is just a qualifier at the end of the day.Melzer folding ever since not holding onto his break in the first set.
He can upset Spoiled Princesses but not The Zebra King.He is just a qualifier at the end of the day.
