I expect Federer to dismantle Nishikori if he shows up like he did today. Surely, Nishikori has a better return than Berdych, but also a much weaker serve.

I'm happy that Federer is back, time to end this Djokovic Murray lull. Even if Novak has to go through some tough losses, it's still better than seeing Djokovic - Murray in every final. Now we just need Nadal so show up a couple of times and we might see another amazing season. I'm also sure that Djokovic will get fired up once he sees his old rivals are back.

During the Federer match, the commentator was talking 'bout a list of highest forehand speeds in the tournament so far. Any way to find it? Thiem reportedly crushed it at 180kph @Meles

Watched the Murray - Querrey match and not that impressed with Murray's play. He seems to be playing well enough to win in straight sets but he's not playing up to the levels that I've seen him play before. This might be deliberate in conserving energy into the later rounds. Federer was far more impressive in dispatching Berdych.

Didn't watch it. What happened exactly?
He beat an Aussie player.

At 5-5, and deuce, he missed his 1st serve and then went to the umpire, saying it was raining and walked off the court. Ump did nothing and so the had to wait to close the roof. When play was resumed, he was allowed a 1st serve, nailed it, and went on to hold serve

Evans was cramping and looking for an excuse to have a break. Tomic won a couple points in a row on Dan's serve pushing him to deuce at 5-5. If Tomic broke him, he'd serve for the set which would've been very bad for dan. Evans then served a fault and then walked off court declaring the court was unplayable. (You can't stop a match mid point). Umpire then said the roof would be closed and Evans was allowed to go to the bathroom and then came out stretching. He should have had a 2nd serve and yet instead got a first serve which ended up being an ace I believe.
Just really dodgy stuff. Earlier in the match Tomic wanted play to stop due to rain but was told to keep playing, Evans yet walks off mid point and is accommodated.

Thinking of booking tickets to the Federer/Nish v Murray QF. Just have to try and guess if it'll be night or day session. I'm guessing it's going to be night session, thought?

I'm going to say Sock because he won't have to deal with the big four . . . He can probably make a Slam final or two given that he'll be competing against nobodies like Kyrgios, Zverev, Dimitrov, and Thiem.

I doubt Sock will overtake Tsonga in singles, but he's won a lot of fun stuff in doubles and mixed doubles though.

Yea' but, Fed was playing birdman, and I think I'm right in saying hell will freeze over before you give Murray props.
Still, thanks for your unbiased match report.

Would love to see a Karlovic/Cheater semifinal.

Edit: Although it's widely believed that Istomin is to go on and win the Australian Open.

Another good win by Dan Evans against a 'name' player. By his standards the prize money he'll earn for at least reaching R4 should really help his training and should motivate him to try harder. Could break into the top 50 I hear.

Thiem in sizzling form. 3-0 already. Blasting fuzz off the ball.

Paire did well there. Thought the break was there (glad it wasn't).

It's way too early for this... 3:45 AM....

And for some reason Eurosport thinks Cibulkova's match is more important than Thiem's... Grrr

3-all in second. Paire looks like he's got leg extensions w/ these mid-thigh shorts he's wearing. Short shorts era would have been something for him.

Rigid as anything on service motion. Could do w/ some back bend.
