2017 Barricade Boost or Asics Court FF?

I’ve been wearing Asics Speed 3’s for the last year +. I love the weight of the shoe. I don’t love the durability.

Can anyone comment on the durability of the FF’s versus the Speed 3’s? Would I see any improvement, or no difference? I wear a 10 in most shoes, including the Speed 3. Should I potentially go down to a 9.5 in the FF?

What about the Barricade Boost - particuarly the 2017 model? I would assume to see the most improvement in durability with this shoe. But I do have some concerns about fit, and the increased weight. I also have what I believe is some Achilles tendinitis, which will flair up from time to time - especially if there is heel slippage.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

both great shoes. I've only tried on the Boost but I own the FF. My only gripe with the FF is I will once in a while almost roll over my foot because it's not as stable as my Resolutions. I think if you are more agile than me than it may be the answer. However check out the new Speed comes with FF which I'm curious to try. However, right now I'm back to my Resolutions after feeling like I almost tore my pinky toe off in the FFs. If the Boost were on sale I would probably pick them up to try out cause the reason I switched to FF was I felt the cushioning was not as good.

After playing primarily in Barricade Classics for years, the Barricade Bounce shoe feels like a little slice of heaven. All of the stability with more cushioning. Significant improvement in my PF. Wait - is it boost or bounce?

I have the Barricade 2015 Boost and the Asics Court FF, and I also owned the Gel Res 6 in the past. Out of those three the Court FF is my favorite and the Barricade Boost is the second. The Gel Res 6 didn't protect my knees enough, so that's a deal breaker. The other 2 have better impact protection than the Gel Res 6. I'll give the Barricade Boost a slight edge over the Court FF in stability, but it's stable enough for Goffin and it's definitely stable enough for me. The Court FF is more comfortable, lighter on your feet, and the ride is plush. Also the inner bootie system of the Court FF locks your heels in place so they don't slip like they did with the Gel Res 6. One time, I even played with my shoes untied and didn't notice it until I looked down! There's really nothing for me to complain about with the Court FF. As for size, I wear a 9.5 in the Barricade and a 9.0 in the Court FF and the Court FF actually gives me more room up front even at a half size down. I have narrow feet so having room width-wise is never an issue.

Seriously you need replacement insoles!!!! Try super feet or Cadence. A world of difference. I just took out the insoles of my Barricade boosts...pathetic paper thin little useless insoles! I have fallen arches and use the Cadence and what a difference!!!!

The insoles are one thing that I’ve been meaning to experiment with. But what I’m really looking for is just a bit better durability of the outsole - which I don’t think new insoles will help.

If you're looking for durability it doesn't get any better than the Barricades. I like the Court FF's, but I know they won't last as long as the Barricades.

I’ve had a pair of barricades since the 2015’s and the 2017 unfortunately just isn’t anywhere near as good a shoe. If you can get the 2016 Boost anywhere then I’d go with them. Since the 2017 model I’ve turned to asics and I’m liking the solution speed 3’s but I long for Adidas to update the barricade back to the 2015/16’s fit.
