Its more like badass than cute. Not sure what part of the bigger stage (finals) the bigger Wawrinka plays. I can't help you understand.

We're not talking about the size of the finals, so you don't need to "help me understand".

We're talking about the number of them he made out of the last Slams since FEDAL started winning practically all of them (that was back in 2005, if you didn't follow tennis back then or you don't know your history, either of which is possible given what you're displaying of your apparent grasp of the subject matter).

There are four Slams each year. Stan has made the final in three of them since 2005. By contrast, Rafa has made twenty-one (and of course, won fourteen out of those twenty-one).

Perhaps you're the one who needs the "help".

You speak about an ATG like he's a joke. Sampras won Rome and won the DC single-handedly on clay in Russia and he definitely would have played Nadal a lot closer than Thiem. Sampras at least would completely disrupt Nadal's rhythm and not let him get into any groove. I'd like to see Rafa return Pete's 135 MPH down the T serve, which he served basically at will.
But Sampras never won Roland Garros.

So different watching from this angle...

What do you mean by "different"? Does it change any of your thoughts about the match or how Thiem/Rafa played?

For the matches that I care about, I always find fan videos like this or even better from court-level angle to watch. Even watch some in full. Helps me a lot.

I was just thinking.... Thiem made it to semifinals of RG, played against the best clay courter ever (who happens to be in amazing shape and hadn't lost more than two games in a set until then) and hung there with him for two sets. A few better-played break points and they may have easily been one set all.

I'll take that. Nothing for Thiem to be ashamed of; just needs to get his tactics sorted out and reign in that power a bit.
