Come on man. No need to insult a legendary player. Sometimes a few months rest can do wonders for an ailing athlete. Look at Federer for instance and what he's accomplished thus far this year.

Rosol doesn't need to be in the top 100 to be a threat on grass if he's firing nuclear bombs. LOL
He was kicking Nadal's behind even in their 2014 Wimbledon match for a large part of the first 2 sets until he lost his focus.

In fairness, Murray and Djoker just turned 30 two weeks ago! We have no idea what either will do in their 30's. So far, neither defended their 2000 and 1200 points at RG after turning the big 3-0.

You're cherry picking. He hit 7 winners and 7 unforced errors in the first set. Stan hit 12 winners and 13 unforced errors. Not much between them that set and neither really played their best, but Stan was clearly going for more. Next set Djokovic hit 6 winners and 14 unforced errors. Stan hit 16 winners and 11 unforced errors. That is terrible stats from Djokovic (-8) who was hitting +5 on average per set the entire tournament. Third set Djokovic hit 7 winners and 9 unforced errors and Stan hit 15 winners and 9 unforced errors. 4th set Djokovic hit 10 winners and 11 unforced errors and Stan hit 17 winners and 12 unforced errors. Djokovic tried to be more aggressive in this set and went up 3-0 but it is too little too late. So he finished the match with 30 winners and 41 unforced errors and -11. Stan finished with 60 winners and 45 unforced errors and +15. So how you think those stats are good for Djokovic is beyond me. Do you know what his stats were going into the match? They were unreal. So you can't tell me that he played a great match and would have beaten anyone else on that day. Not only was he passive and defensive, he was making way more errors than he should have been even playing a passive game. How good his defense was is not important if he can't turn that defense into offense like he usually does, and not taking initiative to play his aggressive game and take it to Wawrinka.

these are up to the minutes, Rafa is almost 3,000 points ahead of Fed in live race; but that is not about getting to #1 this year.
Hard to call, but I think it's possible but it will depend on more than Rafa. Murray has to lose a fair number of points; Rafa is now 2,200 (approx) points ahead of Fed; Fed would have to win a lot to overtake Rafa; Djok has to not have a huge resurgence, and Rafa has to keep winning.

I want to see #1 beside his name again.

Well let's look at it this way. Djokovic has never disappeared for 6-7 months to recharge and rest his body and come back in top health. How many Slams has he skipped as compared to Nadal? How many chunk of a season did he skip throughout his career? Djokovic is by far the busiest player on the tour. Playing almost every event regardless of form.

Not sure but I think it's over for Rosol. Not sure why he's slipped so much maybe injuries. He was very dangerous when on fire for sure.
I have no doubt there are some new versions of Rosol out there who will be minefields in the early rounds.

Truthfully I prefer Rafa save himself for the HCs. Don't think he can skip Wimb like Fed skip FO. But now it seems he could really do wlell there. We'll see.

This year was the most predictable RG ever on the men's side, which is astonishing given Rafa's age but his clay season AND French open stats pointed to a cruise control victory.
So, very low in suspense but high in emotion with historical significance of king of clay (clay god? ) sealing his legendary (and most likely unsurpassable) legacy on his beloved surface.

Exactly. Which makes everything he's achieved over the past six years all the more impressive and is also why it's not too surprising that he eventually got burned out from it all.

The one thing I'm quite certain of is that The Mummy has returned. Look out! But seriously - incredible performance by Rafa. Took the racquet out of Stan's hands, as many thought Stan might do to him. Hard to be the Stanimal with no racquet! It was a bit disappointing in that it wasn't more competitive, but I enjoyed watching Rafa in full flight on clay. A beautiful sight, indeed.

he may be the more typical type that needs to stay on top to be on top.
