Oldest man to lift another one...
Anyone who watched two or three matches of his matches in this tournament can see that Wawrinka isn't exactly in his top form.
IMHO, Wawrinka was lucky to get through to the final match.
I guess Federer wouldn't mind it if he beats Nadal for once at RG.
That would be a nice way to send him off though.![]()
He's gonna at least double what Connors got, maybe even this year LOL.Titles won after turning 30:
Federer 22
Connors 14
Ferrer 12
Lendl 8
Wawrinka 6
McEnroe 5
Karlovic 4
Vilas 3
Sampras 1

I really can't see that happening as hard as I try. I think Nadal would retire on the spot if that happened.![]()
lmao nah, fed cares about the title, it isnt like beating nadal is some bench mark, and while i get he is clay court king, it wouldn't do fed good if he beat rafa on fo and went on to lose and i can already see the presser if they ask that question. all that being said, its still very far away and hopefully novak is healthy so he, stan, and hey knows maybe even clayray might have something to say
Fed's daughters are happy![]()

Fed was a bit fortunate that Nick withdrew.
Nevertheless, he still defeated Nadal and Stan to win this, so he went through quality opponents after all![]()
man they have grown up so much...i see they still enjoy dressing alike..either that or mirka can't be bothered rofl. fed's genes are so damn strong even for the boys.
No, that was obviously a stretch but since Fed said he's planning to still play for 2-4 more years it wouldn't be surprising to see him win a couple more titles. He obviously won't keep this up throughout 2017 but I can easily see him with 2-3 more titles this year, maybe even another Slam. You can't be too confident Federer, at 36, will maintain this kind of form throughout the year, but yeah, that would be nice.
That really would feel like the apocalypse. As a Federer fan who has witnessed a lot of Federer beatdowns at the hands of Nadal, even I would feel sorry for Nadal if that happened.
Forgive my math, but as #6 does that mean he cannot meet a top 4 until the quarters?No.6

Tough pick. Nadal has suffered numerous disappointments in Miami, while I feel for Stan after this matchAs usual don't get cocky my fellow Fed fans. You're only setting yourselves up for disappointment if you're expecting a bit too much
I hope one of Nadal or Stan wins Miami.
It's the official rank. At Miami he'll be no 4 seed. Then, you already know.Forgive my math, but as #6 does that mean he cannot meet a top 4 until the quarters?

I know Fed's not going to maintain this kind of level. It's not 2006 anymore. As usual don't get cocky my fellow Fed fans. You're only setting yourselves up for disappointment if you're expecting a bit too much

Why did Stan change his racket at all when he was leading and that too just when he was going to serve ?
Felt bad for him when he choked in his speech. Never realized this meant so much to him. Perhaps losing to Fed yet again was more to do with that than the missed opportunity to get a masters
Miami is so open now .. Stan is tired and will tank . Kyrgios is sick, Murray and Djok out , 36 year Fed, RAonic and Nishikori yet again injured...looks like Rafa can get Miami !!
I know Fed's not going to maintain this kind of level. It's not 2006 anymore.
I'm just enjoying it while I can. Once the clay season comes, I don't think I'll see much of Fed.
Right now I'm already waiting for the grass season to see Fed in action again and winning.
Or maybe it's something else entirely, i.e. something personal? I doubt it's only that he lost a Masters 1000 to Federer.
No, you wouldn't.

grass season is kind of worrying tbh, because he is defending quite a bit.
Nick was fortunate he caught something before Fed caught him.
he saw the video of the 1handbackanders and then saw his future and started crying
He was defending a fair few points at the Aussie open this year, but ended up getting more , I think when he gets on grass either 2 things will happen, he will dominate, or we will expect him to dominate and some random guy defeats him somewhere along the lines like Donskoy
I really would. For me, if Federer decided to skip the FO I would completely understand. It's hard to see how he would win it and why put out so much energy with the risk of injury to his older body. I think he should focus on Wimbledon and the USO.
