An all Spanish lefty final here. Rafa leads 2-0, meeting in Barcelona in consecutive years. 13-14.
Rafa going for his 10th Monte Carlo title, an absolutely unreal feat. ARV gunning for his 1st Masters title.
Unfortunate what happened in Rafa's SF, at least the other SF was entertaining.

Can't underestimate the other lefty Spaniard who beat quality opponents en route to the final but I think Rafa will take this. Would be a deserved title after being denied several times on a hard court earlier this year.

Vinolas in a m1000 final? Lmao. Nadal in 2 or 3 if he has a bad day which is more than likely given his form in past couple of years.

All fine until "deserved". We'll never know if he deserved the win today. Goffin was shaved by Eddie, he got his a** nailed by Gus Petch!
He did. Injustice in the middle of the first set but still, 6-3 6-1, kind of hard to argue against that.

How many times did Nadal lose a clay final to a non-Fedovic opponent? I know once to Murray in Madrid and once to Zeballos at some minor tournament.

Anyway, that list won't be any bigger after tomorrow.

Nadal in 2 and it'll be deserved. Bad calls happen, human beings aren't perfect but that doesn't mean the winner (whoever of the two it is) won't deserve it.

Not a bad title formatting mate. Although I think it's Monte-Carlo and not Monte Carlo. But just a small thing.

It has been a good Monte Carlo though IMHO. I've had a good time watching it this week.
Very unpredictable, lost a bit of money but fortunately there were Melzer/Tipsarevic/Tiafoe playing in the Challengers coming to my rescue.

This is the first match I don't expect any surprises with Nadal winning in straight sets in comfortable fashion. I think he was beating Goffin today, anyway but the match left a bad taste in the mouth.

Ramos will show a bit of resistence but not enough for Nadal who'll play like it's 2010 again. Nadal 6-4 6-3

Ramos in 3, Cheating Nadal can go home titleless.

Pathetic for not speaking up....knowing his shot was out.
I do not think Nadal cheated anything in that unfortunate incident. Nadal was other side of the court how come he decides and he has not challenged the decision. It's umpire to blame and he overruled the lines umpire decision.

Do they personalize the inscriptions on runner-up plates? Might I suggest "Vamos!" for this one?

top 2 lefties in the world, btw..asked this question a few weeks ago and it took a while to get the second :)

don't recall what happened, video link?

Rafa in 2

there was a call in the third set tiebreak that may have gone against Nadal that I think would have put him up a double mini-break, and a point or two from the title...not sure if it was a good call or not...remember ESPN not having a replay, at least a good one..and no Hawkeye then

edit: may have been during the third set, for a double break

just give it to NAdal now and have some party instead. No need to waste air time. and while at it... just Give the French open to Nadal now as well.....and just move straight into Grass season..... Roger needs all the practice on grass that he can get......

grass, sure, but hard is right up there with Tokyo 2020 Olympics creeping up down the hill... Gold Slam anyone? lol...

You can't judge the effort it took to get to this point by a single match in a single tournament.

Rafa's been beating RG champions since he was 16 years old. Come on, now.
