no it doesnt. Nadal was clearly at his way to get better and to come in the match. I fell sorry for Goffin, but you have to play a whole match to win ... lets see how he does it. Bad Line Calls happen alle the Time, not only to Nadal ... and its a bit strange to read all the blood gurgeling from those who dont want to look after a match then just want to see Nadal lose. If it would be a bad call AGAINST Nadal, all these would be dead quiet, and the Nadal Guerilla would go beserk ...
.. jut enjoy the match and see who will win in the end.
The guy should have been up 4-2. It was Nadal who struggled on serve, until that moment.

It is very unfortunate cause it seems like Goffin collapsed mentally and Nadal has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

Goffin is not totally without blame because horrendous calls happen in all sports and you need to keep your head, but it's a real shame that it has to happen at all.

Also, I won't blame Nadal because it's a professional sport that they play competitively. They play for keeps, and I've said the same about Federer before. Nadal really owes Goffin nothing.

What did the umpire manager (wearing hat) say to Goffin? Sth like that point didnt impact much, or what???

Ok, I'm changing my opinion on this. Rafa clearly regarded the ball as out as well and didn't seem the least bit in doubt - turned around and didn't see Cedric running down to check it. He certainly could have changed greater sportsmanship there @AceSalvo

For Goffin as well. He seems completely dejected and mentally out of it. Hope he can pull himself together. It's his job to stop thinking about it and focus on the rest of the match.

I wouldn't be able to focus man. Obviously Goffin is a professional and should be able to carry on but that call was ridiculous. It's one thing to get a bad line call (Like Miami 2005 final) but the umpire to **** up that badly when the linesman got it right. Goffin is rightly furious.

Another match, another controversy. Speaks for a poorly run tournament. The fans of the sport should make their displeasure known with their pocketbook, the only language that tournaments understand.

Yes it does. Just keep your hands on your eyes trying not to see it does change things.

I know - still, he's gotta do it. One of the biggest matches of his life.

It's a disgrace, an scandal, a outrage!

Three things:

- Nadal might have given up the game but it's the umpire's job. This is his fault. Linesperson also should have shown him the correct mark.
- It's interesting that hawkeye is never used on clay.
- Goffin still had his chances to close the game, and it's a player's responsibility to rise above such situations. You can say that point influenced the match, but can't say decided it.

Rafa getting booed now as he enters the court, OK, that was a bit uncalled for.

Goffin supposedly asked Lars Graf if the Umpire could be changed. A firm no.

Did he? Wow, Nadal can get an umpire banned from all his matches but Goffin can't get a replacement umpire who made a mistake that most likely cost him the set. I suppose time constraints and no umpire easily on-hand but still.

This. That's the difference between champions and those players that play well but don't achieve much.

Oooh now I know.

Next ball that clearly lands out, Goffin should mark it and then look questioning at the umpire.

It's pathetic I know. But I would stand up and applaud it.

After THAT call Rafa points to another ball in another game, then at the end of the set makes Goffin wait, he's like fook y'all keep booing lol.
