yeah, I agree. He is raising his level when required, which is a lot better than what was happening in 15 , crushing the field till the final and then losing to djoko in the final, with his level dipping. ( IW, rome, Wimbledon, USO, YEC)

granted the field is much weaker now because there is no one close to peak Djokovic.

yeah, field is weaker now due to that , not sure if I would use much weaker though.

However competition wise, djoko didn't have it that much tougher, since he couldn't compete with himself.
