Think Cuevas is slowly starting to struggle with the weight of Thiem's shots like it was the case in Madrid.

Great service game from Thiem. Good mix and dominant as a future slam winner should be :D Cuevas service games are utterly boring, hope Thiem manage to break soon.

Any idea how weight plays at Rome, RG, versus Madrid? Which is better surface for Thiem?

I'd say the ball flies faster in Madrid, Rome has the fastest claycourt and RG is most similar to MC, slower than both.

I think FO will suit Thiem fine this year as long as he's conistently hitting the spots with his serve, he's just tired right now so it's not really about the conditions.

No one has mentioned how closer to the baseline Thiem was standing yet? That until he got broken at 4-4 and then he reverted back to his usual way and broke (a nervous) Cuevas back. :D

I think he was just trying to shorten the points for some reason (maybe fatigue), even had an old-school slice approach to the net in the opening game.
