Nice win for Ben E Toe, taking out defending champion PCB 7-6 6-7 6-3. He stumbled a bit at the end, getting broken from MP up at 5-1 on a DF but then caught a break with new balls to serve it out two games later.

Man Chung played badly. Totally looked like he couldn't care less.
Chung needs ATP experienced coach.
Brad Gilbert was a commentator for today's match and he pointed several problems with Chung's games.
Without new coaches/team, he won't be a consistent player.
He played today's opponent in Miami and he should win that game in Miami but lost the match.
I thought he will play better and ready for today's match since he played him before but he played like he never played the opponent before...

Dare I say Kyle Edmund again? This keeps up I may have to consider going up there.
Go Friday...they are evening matches.

Either way, there will be a first time ATP level finalist. Edmund or Dzumhur???

If Struff is enough in the second match, a first-time ATP champion is guaranteed.

What did Gilbert say was wrong with his game?

Man, so disappointed. Seems like everyone I want to see here falls early rounds and the end of the tournament is less than stellar.
Oh well, always next year.

I'll be attending the finals, but was really hoping Johnson, Verdasco, Fritz, Isner, damnit, someone I wanted to see would've made it there this year.

What did Gilbert say was wrong with his game?
He mentioned attacking opponent's second serves (It's strategy).
Also mention about Chung's back feet when opponent hit center of court.
Funny thing was the other commentator asked to brad " what do you want to change Chung's game" but seems like he did not want to give detail info.

To me it almost looked like he was tanking. Sometime he just randomly hit a way too risky shot, totally unnecessary on 30-30 on his own serve and got broken afterwards. He either doesn't care or he doesn't have a brain. Such a shame because I feel like he can get to the sub-top (top 15 or 20) in the future if he gets his game together but he's so far from having a complete game that it's just sad. He also never shows emotion. Not in a cool, icy way but in a "lol I don't give a sh** if I win or lose this match" kind of way. He has to get a good coach that shows him how tennis is supposed to be played. His court awareness and tactics are below zero.

That's why he needs new coach preferably entire team.
Gilbert claims that chung was much taller than 6' 1. He thinks that Chung is close to 6' 3.
Not many 6' 3 moves well but chung has really nice movements considering his height.
I am wondering what his current coach or team is doing now.
Obviously strategy is just worst. You can't just hit harder or overpower your opponents in ATP level.
They will adjust shots no matter what.
I strongly think that brad saw what I or other people did not see from Chung.
He should ask his agent to hook some decent coaches and have a few lessons if he can't afford new coaches.

I think that I like his calm personality and it can be very beneficial. Showing too much emotion might not be the best especially young players.

I saw a match in Atlanta and He was exhausted and barely finished the match which he should win easily.
Looks like he underestimated how hot in Atlanta during summer season. this shows how his team is inexperienced.
He is still young but it's time to change or having mediocre career or similar career as Liu who is king of challenger.

I agree that I like his coolness. But yesterday he was so bad and during the changeover near the end he was just looking around him, not looking focused but almost dazed as if he just wanted to get out of there. Then they panned over to his coach who looked as if he was about to fall asleep. At that moment I thought that either this match is fixed or he is tanking to save energy for the USO.

Anyway I agree that he should get a new coach, an experienced one. He has some money now so that shouldn't be a big problem anymore if he manages to stay in the top 50.

He might have money but probably he wants to keep instead of investing.
With an experienced coach, he can stay at top 30.
