She also won Charleston leading up to those threeSerena played 3 tournaments in a row? I think you need to double check that![]()
Why is Halep crushing everyone?![]()
The wind is calling her name, MUG???Because there's no one consistent in the current top ten. Halep's the best there is at the moment especially on clay. Muguruza is capable of crushing Halep but one never knows what head case Muguruza is going to do every time she steps on court. She's as unpredictable as the wind.
Bertens is another one getting into form at a perfect time. Into the SF. She was defending her Nurenberg title points this week (280 pts) so she's more then covered them (350 pts) so basically next week, any points she gets while playing Nurenberg will be a bonus for her ranking and she's the defending champ there. She's up to #19 in the world. But is defending the French SF points in coming weeks which if she loses early, will see her drop from #19 to around #37.

Kerber will not even reach the 2nd week with her current levelCan't see Kerber or Pliskova making the final so probably the best chance at someone overtaking Kerber would be Halep winning Rome and the French and having Kerber lose before the French final (almost a certainty she will at this point). Otherwise, Halep win Rome and reach the French final with Kerber out in or before the 3R and Pliskova not winning the tournament.
If Halep loses the Rome final, her only shot at becoming number 1 is by winning the French, and even then she needs Kerber to lose by the QF.
Of course there's better scenarios for Pliskova but I'd be stunned if she won the title or even made the final. Kerber with a decent grasp on number 1, even if she bombs early again, just needs Halep and Pliskova to not make the final. Which is achievable.
Might just be my stream but I can't even see the ball when it goes into the top right section of the court. The rest is covered by shadow, and as soon as the ball hits the light I lose it against the clay. Where is blue clay when ya need it![]()
A lovely person on Twitter has come up with the different #1 scenarios at the French Open

At least you got a stream. Sad ****ing days to be WTA fan. Best I can find is a live blog. Thanks, WTA bigwigs, you massive bunch of morons.
*goes off to do some gardening*
She was struggling at the beginning of the year, but she's now looking unbeatable (at least on clay).
I just checked the scoreline and saw that Muguruza retired today vs Svitolina in a SF! See what I mean? An inconsistent head case!![]()
I hate when people win, knowing they feel only halfway decent and retire in the next match.
