Simona Halep is crazy good. 5 games in and Svitolina already tired. Halep dragged her opponents left to right. Good things she doesn't have a drop shot weapons otherwise I don't know how other players will cope with Halep.

Svitolina get asked after her match with Muguruza whether Halep is the best players right now.
Svitolina answered "She played great, but I can't say she's the best".

This is the 4th retirement from Muguruza seriously and she hasn't yet reach any final.
With all that weight loss she looks "haunted".
There appears to be absolutely no joy to her.

She's one of those many players that make you appreciate the greats of the game that won - or at the very least gave everything they had - regardless of how they were feeling personally.

Great dropper by Svitolina! 40-0.
And a 2nd serve ace. Holds to love!

Oh no it's not in, Halep shows its out! Svitolina has to get up from the bench. And it's a double fault! 40-15.

Elina holds anyway.

Oh man these ladies are in all sorts of bother.

Halep with the rolled ankle, Svitolina with a groin injury and looks like she did something to her ankle in that game too.

Survival of the fittest out there. Won't be shocked if someone retires in the 3rd..

Oh wow. Epic rally but Halep has the sitter and misses it. Rushes back for a quick serve... and now a double fault. 0-30. Yikes.

Triple break points Svitolina. Oh Halep..

you can watch it here but this is stupid,, if you don't have this in your channel lineup, you are screwed... What is WTA thinking ? Equal money ? is it the Money , that is it ?? That is too bad...... but ATP Doubles is getting Fantastic coverage,,,,You WTA fools.......................LOL

HAHAHA WOW. Halep looked out of that point twice, she gave up and assumed twice it was out when she hit it but both times it was in! 15-15.

Man, just like that, Halep drops as a Roland Garros contender. Bad ankle roll. Could put her out of the game for a while. Hope not.

It was so predictable though. Every time she's holding two doves in her hand, she loses both instead of keeping at least one.

Right now all she's thinking about is her Slam obsession. In her head, the possibility of winning RG is so much more important than giving her all in this final. In a few weeks time she won't have either Rome or RG in her resumé.

Halep gets an ace and holds serve. Good for her for sticking it out. She's clearly in pain and struggling. But she hangs on. More then Kerber did when she retired down 0-5.

It's not the bloody foot... the foot is just the excuse she needs to quit in her head and believe she saves face...

Maybe yes maybe not. She's half step behind what she used to and trying to end points as soon as possible. It made sense that she doesn't want to push it further since RG is on the line

Svitolina wins! Her 4th title of the year and 2nd Premier 5 of the year.
She jumps 5 spots to a new career high of number 6 in the world!

Number 1 in the race to Singapore.
