very much agreed on the ditch Paris idea, but instead of adding 1000s in mexico maybe just add a mid tier? Make Acapulco worth say 650.
Too many tiers devalues the idea of tiere itself.

Im 100% against grass masters in the 3 weeks before Wimbledon. If you can put together amotano grass swing on the calendar, then great.

It must have been hard for Chung to swallow the 1st set.
Chung was better player in the 1st set but not taking 5 break chances vs Kevin was tough.

reminds me monfils losing to zeballos today. must have had over 10 BPs in the third set and couldn't break, including 3 consecutive ones at 0-40. zeballos only needed 1 break and won.

Chung breaks for 4-4, but gives it right back. Anderson will serve for the match.

similar situation in tie-break.

chung still needs to improve his return game, IMHO, granted Kevin has devastating serving games...

I have a feeling @Meles will win this one. I like both guys but I predict Thiem is gonna score his first win over Delpo.
Del Possum should win this fairly easily. The key will be first serve. If Del Potro is able to rack up the points there then its adios Thiem.;)

If Kevin Anderson wins the Acapulco title he'll be tied with Goffin at #7. He has no real points to defend til the French Open. Has a real shot at getting top 5.

If it wasn't for his walkabout after the US Open final, he'd be top 5 right now.

Lord preserve us.

Average groundstroke velocity looks off the charts here; neither Thiem or Delpo slicing much.

Were watching the match
I'm not saying he 'deserves' to be a top 5 player but with a top 10 seeding at upcoming Masters which will give him a bye he'll be able to score some good points for his ranking points in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo. Thiem, Zverev and Goffin all have a lot of points to defend on clay as well so a great chance for Anderson.

This site tries to load Adobe flash player which is already built-in to my Google Chrome. Then the audio comes on; but no view! LOL! I deleted their version of Adobe Flash since it is not the most updated one from Adobe and it seem to be different somehow to since it got a bigger footprint then the Adobe that I download from Adobe.
just ignore that and hit "close and start watching"

Thiem started out very balanced in this match, but now he seems to have chose to hit even harder as if that's going to work.

Was getting traction trading backhands in the early going.

Them with ZERO plan on any point other than hitting it as hard he possibly can. Really sad to see someone with that much racket speed make it go to waste with absolutely zero plan about what to do any point and employ ZERO strategy.

Sad. @Meles

Totally off topic here. But can anyone shed some light on this phenomenon? I’ve been into tennis for a good while now. I’ve noticed over the years that when a player has 2 or 3 consecutive breakpoints at 40-15 or 40-0, they fail to break more often than not. But when they only have one BP, say at 40-30 or A-40, they’re more likely to break. Why is that? Is it because they feel more urgency to break when they have fewer break opportunities? But when they have a few BPs, they think to themselves “oh I have 3 breakpoints, it’s ok to not break on the first two tries.” But before they know it, it’s deuce, and the opponent has all the urgency and momentum to hold serve. Can this be why? Thanks.
