I just checked his hard court serving stats and the first serve has come back down to earth. Nole looks awesome today. I'm sure much of it just exposing Isner's speed, but if you told me this was peak match from 2015/2016 I'd believe you.

Probably so. Return will decline more with age and slower reflexes. Serve is the shot a player has 100% control over so age isn't as much of a determining factor.

It's interesting that, although Isner is the one with the great hold game rarely broken, it's Djokovic whose serve appears more reliable in this match. Djokovic has gotten to deuce on almost all of Isner's hold games thus far. This is vintage Djokovic, a return to form from the slight dip in Paris.
