Here's an idea, although you guys might feel it goes against the spirit of the game which would be fair: you & partner both pick, and you get one loss before you're eliminated with the second loss. So the strategy becomes, do you both pick the same team and risk elimination if that team loses, or do you pick different teams and waste more teams for future rounds?

That's a good idea. Of all the games I enjoy the Doubles aspect of the TPL the most.

This game is fun...I'm hoping we get more interest. I think having it in a separate thread from the singles games will make it a little slower to trickle people over. In the WTA game its all in the same thread and everyone just picks everything at once in one post.

However, WAY more people play this and for the sake of sanity 2 different threads certainly makes sense.

ya I don't generally follow mens doubles more than a glance or 2 at the draw to see how the few players I really know are doing. I was kind of just guessing most of the way through the tournament haha

I was thinking about Madrid or Rome, Toronto or Cincinnati and Shanghai or Paris. Updating the spreadsheet is not going to be a problem since we have more people helping with that now, and I'll keep updating both the singles and the doubles spreadsheets everytime that I can.

I wasn't even really planning to participate until I looked Wednesday and saw that Men's Doubles play hadn't started yet and figured I might as well...I think that as more people try it at each event they'll get hooked too.

I think we should do all slams, and all MS1000s (while still racking our brains to try and figure out how to introduce a team element).

Yeah, agree with tennis08tarheels - we can add in all the Masters events and make it into a proper tour

Since there were only 2 M1000 I thought that you wouldn't agree with that

But of course, it's going to be great if we add all the Masters 1000. We should have a decent number of people playing this SDL.

I agree. I think its fun. With there being like six of us doing the sheets now it'll be easier to keep up with the 2 leagues and if we are going to do the doubles rankings separate we should at least have all the big tournaments.

We should link this thread or at least the spreadsheet in the main game of IW, and get people to get over here. Since we aren't doing everything in the same thread like the WTA game that will hopefully help generate traffic, plus the knowledge several players got close to the final wont make it look so difficult.
