slightly off topic but I've never understood the format of the Davis Cup can anyone explain it? Or direct me to a thread that does?

World Group is what we're predicting. It consists of 16 teams. The previous year's eight 1R winners are guaranteed to stay in World Group while the eight 1R losers are relegated to their geographic zones and must win at that level to get back in.

Each tie is four singles and one doubles matches (rubbers). Three match (rubbers) wins and you advance.

Each squad can have up to five players but alternates do travel and practice with the squad.

Home court is alternated between the two countries in the tie. If the countries have no previous DC history, it's a coin toss to determine home court. Home teams get to determine venues and surfaces.

When are teams and draws going to be announced...looked on Wikipedia and they aren't listed. Depending on who is playing for whom it may impact my choices...ugh

Never done this before. But, why is everyone picking Belgium and no other picks?

There are 4 rounds in the World Group and we make 1 pick per round in the SDL version of the Davis Cup.
The aim is to pick a team you think is going to win their tie in Round 1. If they win, you progress to the Quarter-Finals; if they lose, you're out of the competition.
You can only pick a team once per event - so if you pick Belgium now, you can't pick them again in a later round.
It's important, therefore, to make smart choices in order to go deep into the tournament.

Most people are presumably picking Belgium due to 2 main reasons:
1 - group mentality (there is a tendency to form "trains" when no one really has an idea of what to pick)
2 - Belgium is a relatively safe pick for this round as they have a decent team and people want to simply earn points for rankings at this point in time
