2018 ATP Sudden Death League: Halle

I knew Flo-Mayer would be a tricky opponent for him. Plus he just won a title like 2 days ago. So the WATLYNM curse lives on! Huzzah!

:D

I had no idea who l picked as back up.
But.... Haase was no Haassle:)

Ftfy, but actually Haase had to rally from a set down. I think he might have also been down an early break in the second at one point too.

R2 Pick: Stefanos Tsitsipas
BU: Thiem Time

TBH, I spent over an hour trying to make a pick Same with the Queens one. This round looked very tricky.

Yeah I went with Sam I Am, but he made it interesting, had to fight off a few set points in the first set but ended up winning it 7-5. He lost a close 2nd set in a breaker but then ran away with the third set. I'm guessing Wawa isn't totally match fit yet, and his game isn't the best on the fast grass courts - his backhands require more time with that elaborate windup, so I figured Sam wasn't a bad choice.

Why do I keep picking Thiem on Halle?? I know that he is 100% sh*t on this surface and the he can lose to any player.

Even at his best, grass is his worst surface. I know slamming Sam can choke, but he was a reasonable pick. I like Sam too, so I am happy he got through.

That's called Blind faith :p

How tf did Tsit lose his match today? Another blow against the next gen after shapos loss.

That's me Outta here :(

In the first set: 16 UE, couldn't generate a single break point, with his second serve he won just 25% of the points. Sugita had 8 break points and with his second serve won 71% of the points.

Sugita in 2018 won 5 matches and lost 15 :)

A few set points? I think Wawrinka had like 100 set points when Querrey was serving 4-5 lol.

Querrey was definitely the favorite to win the match, but I had a few doubts because of the H2H.
