Hello and welcome to our final event in the 2018 ATP Sudden Death League season!

Nitto ATP World Tour Finals
O2 Arena, London, UK
11 - 18 November, 2018
Indoor Hardcourt

This event is open to everyone.

There will be a WTF Bonus Competition exclusively for the Top 8 in the Race/Rankings running side by side with this - the thread for that will be up later this week.

RULES (World Tour Finals):

1. Every day of the tournament that day's matches will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

2. You have to pick one player per Round Robin day. In the semis and finals you pick one player per round.

3. During the round robin portion of the event, you can only pick a player ONCE. However, upon reaching the Semi-Finals, your picks will be re-set, so you can then pick a player you previously picked in the Round Robin.

4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

5. You cannot advance to the next round via a walkover since it is hard to know exactly when someone announced they were pulling out HOWEVER this rule does not apply once you reach the semifinals

6. Since you can no longer win a match by a walkover it is highly advised that you make a back-up pick to your main pick - when listing your picks make sure you specify which is your back-up.

7. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If he retires before the match, your back-up pick will be used.

8. If the opponent of the person you picked withdraws and is replaced by a lucky loser your original pick will stand unless you specifically change it. [Usual caveat applies - if you let me know clearly in advance, that's a different issue]

9. NEVER edit your pick. If you want to change your pick, please quote your old pick and choose a new player. Edited posts will not be taken into consideration.

RANKINGS:

2018 RANKINGS & RACE

This week the WTF points drop off and now the "Race" and Rankings become one. So it all comes down to this. There are 1,500 points up for grabs in the main WTF tournament and a further 750 in the Top 8 Bonus, and this is probably the closest Race For #1 that we've had in a long time. There is only a 225 point gap between the current Race Leaders. A somewhat random poll has been added to the thread so feel free to vote away!

There are several people mathematically in contention to earn what is known as a "Save Pick". For those who aren't aware of what this is and how it can help you, I will provide a detailed explanation a bit later this week - it will be posted in the Top 8 thread.

Day 1 (Monday) schedule according to ATP/WTA app is:

Zedraffe vs Cilic

Isner vs Joe Kovic

Why are people picking Thiem, Anderson and fedr???

Edit: for some reason that app defaults to Monday, which is Day 2. I now see match play begins on Sunday. Idiot app.

Well that's the YE#1 dream gone for me. Although I can still potentially gain ground on the bonus rounds.

I think that Fed's loss has actually handed me the YE #1 on a platter, and by only 225 pts. Too many people gone from the Main tournament and the gap is too large to make up in the Bonus Competition for anyone.

I have to defend a lot of points at the start of 2019 so I'll probably lose it there unless I can win everything in sight, but at least there's some more weeks to pick up for now.

Pretty much. The most I can do is to close the gap with the bonus points (that's if Cilic goes through). Given that both of us have an AO final to defend (I also have my 3 consecutive 500's) it seems like @Forehand_Slice 's takeover is inevitable.
