Federer beats Berdych so the 2018 Australian Open SF's are:

#6 Cilic v #49 Edmund
#58 Chung v #2 Federer

I know a lot of people are 'down' on this tournament because in the QFs you had so many players that seemed like real stretches to reach a SF, and the guys people were waiting on a breakthrough from didn't break through (Zverev, Thiem, Dimitrov, Kyrgios). But I will say this:

We have #2 in the SFs
And we have the guy who beat #1 (Cilic vs Nadal), the guy who beat #3 (Edmund vs Dimitrov) and the guy who beat #4 (Chung vs Zverev).
And the guy who beat #5 (Sandgren vs Thiem) was in the QFs, too.

So the guys who progressed didn't do it by passing through an empty draw, they are the guys who emptied out the draw. That's good to see.

I want Federer v Cilic so it doesn't feel like the USO, "easy draw" and all that jazz.

Same here. Federer v Cilic still has a big match vibe, and we know Cilic can beat Federer on route to a HC slam. At least it can add some spice, especially with the way Cilic fought against Nadal.

Anyone who missed the Fed-Berdych match last night, the replay has just started on Tennis TV with Koenig in the booth. I think only Americans/Canadians have the Tennis Channel as an option.
