Nick leads the H2H 2-0, both meetings straight set victories. Though will Nick be feeling generous, and tank the first set again?

Ryan was extremely close to losing to De Minaur, a couple of points away in fact, did very well to silence the crowd and compose himself, served well. Nick was just Nick, another strange match against Grigor, seemingly unplayable on serve for the last two sets though.

Starts not before 7:00 pm, local time....

I think Nick will continue his conscious pattern of tanking the first set and then steamroll the bearded brat. Nick in three!

NK seems to be play a game to give his opponent hope that they have a chance to win before lowering the boom on him! NK way to have fun I guess! LOL! Make for a more melodramatic tennis match don't you think?

Kyrgios does not seem to do that against the best players like RF, Djokovic or Rafa however!

I don't know if how many in the top 16 are at risk of pulling out at the AO, but a top 16 seed may be up for grabs for Young Saint Nick. Not that draws matter that much to Nick Kyrgios. Both the 5-8 guys in the 3rd round and th 1-4 guys in the 4th round only have the one guy he'll be happy to avoid, namely Goffin and Federer.

Hopefully the first of many this year for Nick.
I predict big things for him until the clay swing, when he then totally disappears every year. Then a reemergence on grass. A focused Nick beats anyone off clay, and that includes Fed at Wimbledon. But we'll see if he stays healthy, a big "if."

I think Nick wins this tomorrow, would love to see him keep this up until at least Miami. A Fed/Kyrgios match at the AO would be must watch I think.

I'm happy Harrison made the final, yes he's had attitude issues and all, but he was at one point a very promising up and comer. Even though this is just a 250 event, better late than never. Maybe he can use this as a stepping stone to bigger things, he's only what 25-26?

Saint Nicolas stays focused and stays clam he'll be very tough to beat, Congrats to Harryson for gettin to the finals & wd taking out Minataur.

Cheers

Kyrgios, when motivated, isn't that terrible on clay. He went like 9-4 on clay in 2016, reached his first ATP final on clay, etc.

He will be 26 in May and the last 11 months have been his most productive of his career with one title and now two finals appearances. He also managed to squeeze in a trip to the altar, getting married to Christina McHale's sister.

His first slam match victory was in straight sets over The Worm at RG'13. The following spring he won two consecutive Challenger titles on American HarTru clay, beating Jacques Chaussette in the second final. Then, his lone victory vs fedr GOAT happened in Madrid on clay in 2015.

In addition, many of the Canberra courts fat young Nick grew up playing on are a granular clay like surface.

I won't be surprised by a decent transition to clay any year that he's healthy.

What the hell, everything Ryan is connecting with, coming off as gold. Nick clutch on BP down so far, huge serves coming to his aid.

Good luck to both players.

I am an Australian but also a tennis fan so I am just as interested in Ryan's fortunes tonight. Glad to see him back on the scene after rebuilding his ranking playing great tennis at a slightly lower tier. It also looks like his doubles success has helped his confidence generally.

This is going to sound a bit odd and like an excuse but Harrison is one of those players who has had genuinely bad luck in the draws he has had at majors.

The draws he has had and dealing with wild U.S. weight of expectation are partially to blame for his progress stalling imo.

Wow, hilarious combo to break. Out of nowhere, Nick breaks for 4-3. Nick complaining about his knee on changeover though, going to re tape his knee.

6/4, Kyrgios. Nick at 66% 1st serves in, great groove on serve, Ryan tried to disrupt the rhythm a couple of times, did not pan out all too well.

Nick complaining about Ryan taking too much time to change, wants to know why he couldn't have taken that MTO...

Nick looks sad.

He's seen the tweener rally at the Hopman Cup and realises he's missing out on the stuff he actually likes.
Hes looking for something to complain about. Harrison taking an eternity for a toilet break has upset him now.

Nice bit of trivia here.

No love lost between Harrison and Kyrgios. After #sorrymategate Harrison suggested Wawrinka should've beaten the crap out of Kyrgios and he should've beaten Kokk after a heated exchange after a qualifying match they played the week after.

That forehand Kyrgios just hit, on the baseline, standing up straight, at shoulder height, yet manages to control it perfectly and direct it to the corner.

Nick breaks for 2-1, one of the best at getting into his opponents head, Ryan DF sealing it.

Who else rivals Nick in this, rattling the mind of the opponent? Simon, Karlovic?....
