I heard they are good friend and occasionaly they play also a football game Austria vs Slovenia. Nice to hear that.

The path of Bedene: In round 1 he defeated Jurij Vesely (6:0 in 6:3), in round 2. he was better than the spaniard Albert Ramos Vinolas (3:6, 7:5 in 6:1). In the quarter-final he defeated the little big Argentinian Diego Schwartzman (6:4 in 6:4). Yesterday he won against Delbonis in front of the loud crowd.

We all know Thiem, he is a monster on clay - a big favorite but still, I am glad Bedene got to the final.

What do you think of Bedene-s game?

Well done to Thiem for another title. The only time that he was really troubled during his tournament was during that 1st set against Pella, when he initially couldn't convert 5 set points and had to face 2 in the tiebreak.

I do enjoy watching him play on clay, and would really like to see him win a masters series title on the surface on the title.

It's a shame that no Argentine player has won his title for 10 years since Nalbandian's success in 2008, with just one finalist in the past 7 years (Monaco in 2015). Hopefully Pella who has lost ATP finals in the last 2 seasons can win his first title this season.

Nice OP. With Monfils getting crickets against Thiem yesterday, this surprisingly didn't quite warrant a match thread. Victim of TV coverage more than anything plus no commies this week makes feeds less appealing to watch/monitor.

Thiem off and rolling for sure on clay at this point.

Thiem clearly is one of the best clay courter now, but he still needs to do more to be the best. I think he may do it, like his countryman Muster did.
