Two missed overheads so far from Mugu. Badly missed ones. Makes me feel better about my missed overheads :D.

Ultra aggressive game from Mugu continues..Mugu took the 1st set comfortably.6-3. Mugu on serve at 2-3 on second set.

DK starts to find her range with her FH, playing with more aggressive FH hey coach advise.
Good observations. They showed a graph of court position. Mugs is forward, Daria being pushed back.

DK starts grunting too to pump herself. Oops too soon, only for one point. Maybe she should match Mugu's grunting, it seems to be working for Mugu to produce her ultra aggressive game. My ears not gonna like it though.

What an interesting point just now. Half way through the point Mugu stops grunting. Suddenly so quiet.

Was Muguruza always screaming like that?
This is Azarenka/Sharapova territory.

Kasatkina claims it good effort, but Garbine really should have taken her chances to win the match already.

DK's coach seemingly simple advise was spot on.
Coach: "What you're doing is good. But it's not enough from the quality. You play low (low balls) very good, you play high very good, but you have to add a little bit speed. She put a lot of pressure on you".
DK: "I put a little speed and anything goes long"
Coach: "What do we do then?"
[pause. .. DK thinking]
Coach:"Don't hit the ball and put already in your head that you're going to miss, there's no point to do this.
Even you lose the 1st set like this, try to get rhythm. Use your FH, it's the absolute one you need."

Kerber falling apart against Svitolina losing 3-6 on first set (Kerber 2-3 on serve on 2nd set). UE errors at 30 vs Svitolina's 15.

The interesting thing is Svitolina just requested her coach and sounding rather negative as if she was losing.

Nice from my lady, though Kerber could have played much better.

One win away from defending the title that brought her the top 10 ranking last year. At least she is still doing a good job in minor tournaments. Yes I am still frustrated with those Slam and WTA Final losses.

And what a run from Kasatkina so far. Radwanska, Konta, Vesnina, Muguruza, maybe Svitolina as well. That's just awesome.

The delusional man in me would like this matchup in a Slam final or two as well.

Damn...Just watched the highlights. No clue how Kasatkina stayed in the point on MP #2. Garbie had her on a string from the start of the rally, but couldn't put her away. Good hustle, but Garbie probably should have won that point. Oh well :( Hopefully Mahut doesn't let me down today too.

Mugu was just very poor with her shot selection and mental toughness. she should have won that match 3-4 times over. she needs a good spanking for that one.

Can someone explain to me how Svitolina beat 5 times in row Kerber?
I watched bits and pieces. My conclusion is Kerber was playing sub-par today and Svitolina was playing solid/sharp. Kerber was hitting UE left and right. I guess even the Pros (including top Pros) can have 'bad days'.

It's a Kasatkina v Svitolina Final. Lots of 'ina' :D.

Will the Age of the -ova and -ovic succumb to the dawning of the Age of the -ina?

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the Age of -ina

(A tasty treat awarded to the first to identify this reference)
