Indian Wells is surely one of the most beautiful stops of the ATP World Tour, taking place at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California. The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts and it is the first of nine Masters 1000 events in the calendar.

Roger Federer, the greatest man since Mahatma Gandhi, will look for his sixth singles title, while three times former winner Rafael Nadal may skip the tournament due to injury.

Fedr is the top seed now obviously.

At the time of that entry list, it was probably still Nadal.

With Nadal being out, I think all Federer needs to do is a SemiFinal show at Indian Wells and maybe a 3rd or QF in Miami and he's 100% to be #1 until Wimbledon most likely.

I fully expect Federer to GOAT here.

He is coming in having won a historic 20th slam and becoming oldest world number one ever, and with no Nadal to take the top ranking away, Federer will be playing IW with all the momentum in the world, and pretty much with house money. A care free Federer is a dangerous Federer, especially in IW. Since 2011, when he has been healthy at IW, only peak Djokovic has stopped him, something tells me we won't see that version of Djokovic, should he even turn up to IW.

Is he really care free? Maybe it’s just me but I have a feeling he’ll be under more pressure to win since Nadal is out.

It's his second best master so I also expect him to do well/win.

Nadal, Sock and goffin out now too I reckon from that list?

All these injuries are making tennis look like a really bad sport now. I mean we are going into a masters with almost half the top 10 gone. And look at that top 10 aswell.

Sock hasn't dropped out to my knowledge?

Djokovic had no competition during 2015-16 either

Are you seriously comparing 2018, when Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka, Nishikori, Raonic are all injured to 2015? At least they all played back then, weak or not, here, Federer is single handily carrying the tour on his back. There is no comparison.

Zverev won 2 masters.

Delpo is way better now

Sock won a master

Thiem has matured

Grigor won WTF

Kyrgios beats Nadal and Djokovic

The top 2 (Fed and Nadal) are capable of winning majors now whereas Novak was the only one winning that time

The field is more closer in level now

Hahahah check the top 10 in 2015 and compare to today, not only that, but everyone was competing unlike now where Federer is the only one playing :D

What really matters is the big 4 . Currently you have 2 players capable Of winning while back in that period there was just Novak for the most part and Murray for the last part of 2016

Federer and Nadal were injured for large parts of these 2 years

The others fill up the draw

Kyle Edmund playing first tournament as British #1 apparently owing to points dropped by Murray.
