2018 Indian Wells Masters - More than a mere M1000

sorry if this has been asked and answered, but when is the draw?

Edit: oops.. just saw it a few posts above

Fedr vs. everyone excluding Nadal and Djokovic at Indian Wells since 2011

List of people who came anywhere close to beating a healthy Federer at IW since as far back as 2004:

Agassi, 2004 SF (two games away)
Rochus, 2006 3R (two games away)
Murray, 2009 SF (won with a blowout 3rd set)
Baghdatis, 2010 3R (won in 3rd set TB, mentalmidgeterer in full flow wasting MPs)
********, 2011 SF (won with a blowout 3rd set)
********, 2014 F (won in 3rd set TB)
********, 2015 F (won with a blowout 3rd set)

As long as Fed is healthy and vibrant, short of him donskoying himself out early, it takes a top notch level to have a chance against him. Doesn't look like anyone else could produce it at the moment, so really I expect him to win, as long as he's ok physically.

What's Tommy's angle with the singles/dubs bounty?

Gotta figure he's pushing a One-handed Backhand Boys agenda. If I'm honest, I'm fully expecting a gala celebrating the feat at which they will perform. Do bear in mind that one meellion dollars doesn't go as far as it used to. Pyrotechnics to be virtually nonexistent.

MEN’S SINGLES WILD CARDS
*Tennys Sandgren (USA)
*Ernesto Escobedo (USA)
*Bradley Klahn (2nd place Oracle Challenger finisher)
*Reilly Opelka (3rd place Oracle Challenger finisher)
*Alex de Minaur (AUS)

i'm after a pair of "the tick" boxer shorts(new not second hand) if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

Yeah I know but he's not here and I didn't want to add the "when healthy" clause!!

Well it applies. Nobody counts Fedr's loss to Del Potro@US Open last year as 100% legit. I know Fedr can't wait to show DelPo who's 'boss' at IW/Miami with some good solid beatdowns. DelPo was feasting on mugs the last week, but no more.

I count it as legit. Sure, Federer was injured, but he still beat several solid players until meeting Delpo in the QF.

Uh no. He got pushed to 5 sets by both Tiafoe and old-fart Youzhny. It was a horrible performance caused by a broken back. Fedr shouldn't have even played US Open, but felt obligated. Considering he won the very next slam, I feel very comfortable writing US Open 2017 off as a lucky one for Rafa.

It was lucky for Rafa. Not mutually exclusive. Part of Roger being 35+ is that he will have backerer episodes.

Not mentioning injuries means not having to debate it with ppl who disagree

The way Delpo is playing, he sill certainly be a threat at IW and Miami. He is a former finalist at IW and a former semifInalist in Miami. He seems to have finally rediscovered the form that made him a threat in the past and allowed him to get those results at the Sunshine Double.

At this point, I see him as Fed's biggest threat at both IW and Miami.

It could change if Z pulls out

With Nadal being out, I think all Federer needs to do is a SemiFinal show at Indian Wells and maybe a 3rd or QF in Miami and he's 100% to be #1 until Wimbledon most likely.
Nadal is going to have a lot of trouble defending last year’s points. I mean, he’s out with injury and still has both RG and the USO to defend. Yikes..
Never count your chickens before they hatch but it feels like Fed has got a firm grip on the #1 spot. And if he plays the clay season (without getting injured) he’s going to extend that lead even more.

I guess there wont be more tennis players withdrawing.I want the final to be either Federer - Djokovic or Federer - Del Potro.
