It's sad what's happening to Djokovic. Every time he makes a step forward he makes 2 steps backwards.
Nah, don't think so. I would have been enthusiastic about a stat like that too.Did I jinx it??
How do you beat Nishikori and lose to the #1 British player in the world?![]()
He is on the right track, trust me. He'll be a contender for everything again starting from Wimbledon. He played better today than the previous tournaments but Edmund played a VERY good match.Like ?
Kei just didn't believe he could beat Novak and his serve was a liability.I saw the Nishikori match - Nole was quite poor - nowhere near his best...Kei was even worse...
Nothing is a fluke anymore when your record is 6-6 this year.Very unlucky. He hit all first serves in that game, yet got broken. Fluke loss.

He did play a bit better today, but in the end his true confidence level was on display.Yep. How many times have we seen threads starting with variants of "Djoko is back" and then he loses? Trouble is there doesn't seem to be an upward progression.

Interesting how you chose exactly Wimb as a starting pointHe is on the right track, trust me. He'll be a contender for everything again starting from Wimbledon. He played better today than the previous tournaments but Edmund played a VERY good match.
Federer was injured in 2013, I have no idea what was wrong with Nadal in 2015, was it a mental issue? Djokovic is just declining, his defensive grinding style has took a toll on his body.I thought Federer's 2013 was bad, then came Nadal's 2015, Djokovic's 2018 is clearly better than both of them though.
That moment when you realize Novak lost to the AO semifinalist.Edmund is underrated.
Will be a top 10 player by next year imo.
What might those be? Is he winning events? Is he even making the semis of any tournament? How about the QF's? Is he beating any player in the top 20?I say this again, there are encouraging signs for Nole fans.
Don't know man. Don't know.He is on the right track, trust me. He'll be a contender for everything again starting from Wimbledon. He played better today than the previous tournaments but Edmund played a VERY good match.
I think Wimb is still too early for him. He won't regain enough confidence to be a contender at Wimb. This I agree with. He was out served but he kept his decent level from last match.
As evidenced by all the QF he has made this year so far as well as his great win-loss record.I say this again, there are encouraging signs for Nole fans.

Seriously...think about it.

Edmund's serve was rock solid in this match.
If it is one person who can, it is Djokovic.I think Wimb is still too early for him. He won't regain enough confidence to be a contender at Wimb.
Nobody goes from a 6-6 record to winning slams all of a sudden.

Yeah, I still think Djokovic will come back though, his problems are more mental than physical. Sure he's struggling physically right now, but only because he needs more match practice. This is all assuming he's as hungry for success as Fedal is though.Federer was injured in 2013, I have no idea what was wrong with Nadal in 2015, was it a mental issue? Djokovic played better today I thought. A bit more improvement in Rome than again at Roland Garros and he's capable of being a force.
Novak will have to come back from a lower ranking than Federer at the beginning of last year.Novak isn't gonna turn into a world beater by Wimbledon. This year will have more struggles and disappointments for him and his fans. What he is going through cannot be turned off or willed out of just like that. It's a slow process. He's gonna have to keep trying though if he is to return to the top again.

It depends how long Djokovic is willing to endure bad loss after bad loss.Yeah, I still think Djokovic will come back though, his problems are more mental than physical. LOL! Ok, whatever you say. He won't be a contender for Wimbledon. Stop dreaming. Wimbledon is less than two months away! Federer will pummel his arse from here to Timbuktu but the problem is Djokovic can't even make it to Federer these days.
I thought he would beat Edmund but no, he can't even do that.
Well, he'll fall out of the top 20 if he pulls another stinker in Rome.I was thinking about him being a bit better than before and on an upward trend. This was a good match from Kyle, tough to lose but somewhat acceptable from where Djokovic is coming from,he needs to take his time, Impatience is his greatest enemy presently.
