Thiem is a FREAKING machine. I just love watching him hit the ball.

Still though he needs to have a game outside of clay aswell. But for sure he'll get there, I've said it many times. With the game he has he is a potential #1 player.
He is a wall this year.:p A lot of firepower incoming to the game on hard courts, but Thiem may snake some bigger titles. His serve game on hard courts much improved in 2018 and of course that is now translating nicely back to clay. Amazing how well Thiem is doing despite the bizarre issues serving out and deflating 2nd serve won numbers.

It's only a dream if they actually play at a high level. If they don't, then the only thing to do is watch old matches on YouTube of competitors who actually play at a good level.

MightyWrong:rolleyes: you obviously haven't been watching Shapo play in this tournament and apparently Thiem.

It's not Thiem's fault that Anderson is in the SF here. Thiem himself is worthy of being in the last rounds of any clay tournament.

Look how Nadal and Thiem get drawn in the quarters all the time on clay despite them clearly being the top 2 players on clay.

I really hope he finds the correct approach and the right game on HCs. I've been hyping him for so long and I do believe the hype is warranted cause the guy possesses a game that is out of this world. He needs to start being a dominant champion soon.

yea, if the draw was up to us fans, it would have been a Nadal Thiem finals for all clay events.

good to see all the "big serve > forehand" bots getting knocked out with their trashy style and giraffe movement

hoping for another masters title for thiem or zverev

Anderson's a bit of a stiff but this Thiem kid is starting to impress me.
I don't often warm to people who have the kind of face I just want to
punch. Repeatedly.

Zverev? Still want to get him passed out drunk and shave his head. I'll
leaving the punching of his face to others. He sucks.

I'd be 100% on board with your take, but then the Summer of NextGen happened last year and we're back on track staring with IW. Thiem has to establish dominance with all of these players and Zedrot may be the chief calamity for Thiem.

Welcome to the Thiem.:rolleyes::confused:

This is actually bad for Thiem IMHO. Bad preparation for his next match. Thiem is not playing at remotely the level he was against Nadal. He has dropped his level significantly.

Changed his strategy to pull the wings off Anderson perhaps. Level looks fine. Bottom line two relatively easy sets will do nicely today.

Geriatric servebot choker in the house.

He isn't choking, he's tired. This the bad thing about the older guys. They get tired deeper in the tournaments. So those matches at the end of the tourneys late in the season can get pretty dismal.
Thiem has played two tired guys in a row. He's about to play someone with just as much (if not more) energy.

I'm just hoping for a good match.

and he's still straight setting in his semi super comfortably

now imagine if he finds half of his nadal form for the final...
