She's looking very confident.Holy crap, was that netcord timely. Collins was dictating the point and should have won it. Ugly errors otherwise tho. She lost her cool.
I can't help but root for Osta. She's so uncompromising and I can't help but admire it.
She's looking very confident.
I like that as a nickname:Collins had her chances in the first set but Alona is a beast from the baseline.
I think it’s gonna be a great final. If I had to place bets, I would bet on Sloane but.....who knows.I was torn, I wanted a 3-setter, yet I wanted to go to sleep. Probably better this way. Should be a good final.
French Open winner vs. US Open winner
Wow, well done Jelena.
A good final awaits us: two players who, when switched on, are probably the most lethal on the tour.
I'm not sure about that given her results for such a long period after the US win.Nice to see Stephen getting her game back again for another GS title. It should be easier mentally, sense she has won one already!
Lol surprise Jelena has not lost a set yet
93 isn’t high enough for main draw direct entry for most Premier draws and even Premier 5’s. She would get into qualifying however.
Stuttgart (Premier) for example has such a high quality field I think the main draw cutoff is in the 30’s or 40’s as there’s so many top players.
93 is good but she’s not quite there yet.
Side news, Conchita confirmed parted ways with Garbine.
"I want to share the news that my collaboration with Garbiñe has finished after Miami. She has decided to go back working full time with her coach. Like always it was great to work these past tournaments with her. I wish her and the rest of the team the best for the rest of year."
@fundrazer
Won’t be able to watch the final as I’m getting drunk but hopefully someone live commentates it here so sober me can read it.
I think I’m cheering for Ostapenko but honestly would be happy either way. Can’t split two slam champions. What a final.
yep, penko is swinging freely and Sloane seems to be playing more conservative these first few games.Stephens hitting deep, Ostapenko with 7UE, 5W. 2-1 Stephens.
Why don't they get it, every time the umpires say at the coin toss, verbal challenge loud and clear please but players are on dumb auto pilot and never get it!Sloane challenged before the ball even hit.
