How can the overwhelming majority of people in this poll be confident that Fed is going to win Miami, after what just happened at IW?
Yep! How can people think that Roger will win after he has lost one match in 3 months and that too in a 3rd set tiebreaker after having match points? They are clueless. Roger is done. Fedr is exposed. Del Potro is the real number 1.

Blake's choice of WCs is bizarre - Baghdadis, Ymer, Miomir Kecmanovic, Eubanks, Kuhn. In qualies it was Souza. Geller, the other Ymer, Kokkinakis, Kypson (who does Kypson know?). What do you notice in this list? Only 2 Americans. Meanwhile, in the women's draw, S. Vichery, who is American, ranked 88, and FROM MIAMI, had to play the qualies. Weird. I don't know if Blake is in charge of the WTA tournament or if he has any control over WCs, but he is the TD.

Hope Struff doesn't clown this match away. Seems to be struggling after winning the first set.

And he's lost the second set.

Harrison serving to stay in the match v Souza. So many empty seats, you’d never see that in the UK; I guess we’re a crowded little island full of OAPs with nothing better to do.

Yep. Horrible inconsistency.

Then I see his previous matches and see this:

2018 Doha: Struff def. Berdych 6-4, 1-6, 7-6

2018 Australian Open: Federer def. Struff 6-4, 6-4, 7-6

He is a clown. Had two BPs to come back, but he can't do anything. I hate guys like Ymer.

I would be okay if I thought he would do something with this win, but I know he won't.

Exactly, though Ymer is an up-and-comer, it's actually his brother E Ymer who is more promising. This one has been losing to guys on the Futures (!) circuit recently.

Ymer Jr. has to be one of the best movers and defenders of his generation, and he has good hands. Sadly for him, he is very weaponless in terms of both serve and groundies. Nice, solid backhand though.

But with good consistency and grit and some help from an errant Struff, he finds himself up 4–1 in the decider now!

6'5 and unbelievably stupid. Losing to a mediocre player ranked 407. Dumb!

While I agree that Struff is stinking right now and should win a match like this, M. Ymer isn't your regular ranked-400-something. At his young age, he has already been more injured than healthy the last couple of years, so his fit level is far above what his ranking suggests. In his best showings he has destroyed a player like Verdasco for instance (2 & 1).

Didn't know about that. Guess I should really have done my research, for some reason the injury didn't factor in my decision-making.

You mean another clown?:D

LOL, Ymer breaks again and will serve for the match. Screw you, Struff.

Though I'll forgive all the crappy errors if pulls a rabbit out of the hat and finds a way back from 1-5 down.

Nah, no coming back for that clown. I mean, it's one thing to lose the second set, but this implosion is completely unacceptable.

Well, it's hard to keep up with the history of every futures-tour young gun, so I don't find that weird:D

But yeah, he's had some nasty hip injuries in particular, so he hasn't gotten any real rhythm on tour to live up to the promise he showed at like 16–17. Arguably he's more talented than his big bro (who I also think has been out of the game a bit?).

Wow. Just assumed Mikael not eager to play a lot on tour early. He's a speedy player so if he can get back some Raonic bombs he might have a fighting chance.

Struff had been playing well for the last six months and I suspect maybe he's just not that good on outdoor hard courts. Knocked off Tsonga and Anderson last Fall. Struff also carried German Davis Cup for the win over Australia where a brilliant last minute decision had him in the doubles. Despite some big wins and nice play Struff's ranking is declining.

"Novak Djokovic told reporters at the Miami Open that he has trained pain-free for the last two days, a welcome change from two years of struggling with a pesky elbow injury. "It's quite refreshing," Djokovic said on the eve of the tournament he's won six times. "I can actually start focusing on the game instead of thinking about whether the pain is going to reappear or not." The world No. 12 had a "small medical intervention" on his right elbow after the Australian Open. He will play his first match in Key Biscayne on Friday and hope it goes better than his most recent outing, a second-round loss at Indian Wells."

First round of a non-slam without stars, no way they fill a huge stadium.

Djokovic is always pain free right now, then two weeks later he's again pain free now, been in pain for two years you know.

Novak is 9/1 for the French Open, I think come the French that will be a lot shorter so get it while you still can.

Apparently he is the better of the brothers and his brother is ranked in the 130s. He played Karlovic close in Stockholm and has the game to cause trouble to big server like Raonic.

Younger Ymer:eek:

What on earth was Nole doing at IW continuing to play with elbow pain.

I love Fritz serve motion and BH, hate his FH. It either sits up or it goes long, can only take control on a very short ball and even then messes it up at times.
