The Tower of Tandil takes on the Big Johnny.

Del Potro leads the H2H 6-3 and rides a 15-match win streak heading into this match, though Isner won their last meeting in Paris 2017.

Del Potro is looking to take another big step towards completing the Sunshine Double, whilst Isner is looking to book his spot in a 4th Masters Final (lost to Federer, Nadal and Murray in the others), maybe even win one.

Who prevails?

Del Potro had problems with Raonic... and Isner gives even less rhythm than Raonic. Isner is also in good form. And for some reason, it seems like Del Potro's form has wavered a bit in his last few matches.

I see Isner pulling this out. I chose 3 sets in the poll option, but I think Isner could do this in 2.

Swear to god I hope Delpo doesn't lose to Isner again...

I remember in Cinci 13 Delpo was a set up and MP in the 2nd set but serves a DF and chokes the match away.

Isner rained on Delpo's parade last time. Delpo needed to beat Isner to qualify for the WTF, but failed.

Delpo is targeting a premiere Sunshine Double for him. Will Isner rain on his parade again?

The last player to win the Sunshine Double other than Fedole was Sampras in 1994, I believe.

This should be a good match. I like both, but I am more bias as an American. I would like to see Isner win, but if he wins I want him to win the tournament.

Interestingly, Isner likes the slower higher bouncing courts, which for me at first made no sense.
When I serve and volley I like the faster courts, because they can normally only chip back my 1st and even my second serve (D1 Highschool Sophmore - Play #2), but I am 5 8' and for Isner the fast court, he might have difficulties getting in fast enough, along with the fact that he's making contact 10 feet off the ground so the higher bounce must be harder for returns. That along with fast courts bouncing low, and he's so tall.
Just interesting :)

It helps with his kick serves.

I like Delpo but when Isner's serve is on, it's TB's or one break and it's over. Delpo is looking tired and his streak will end.

Fedole

Semi-Pro
Delpo is the only man to save this tournament. We have bots and cloggers filling up the rest of the spaces.

there's a reason the sunshine double is so rare and has only been done a handful of times in the past two decades

i have a feeling isner will play the spoiler for delpo's sunshine double

I picked John in 3. Looks to be serving well, real handful for DelPo in general as well. Just got the feeling he might be the man to snap the streak.

Whoever wins this, I hope they win the title. No issues with Isner winning his first masters title.

Isner is very formidable when he has spring in his step and energy. That extra day off really might have helped him a lot.

Why Delpo is serving and missing first serves under 180 kph nobody knows.

Isner is on his random ATP 1000 runs bois.

This is Isner's time. Del Potro will fake injury half way through the match to try and gain crowd sympathy, as he always does.
