For anyone needing the updated rankings I've done the math and crunched the numbers tirelessly:

Peak Del Potro defeated Peak Federer at IW
Peak Del Potro had 15 match win streak
Peak Isner defeated Peak Del Potro

Therefore we can rank the players like so:

2. Isner
3. Del Potro
4. Kokkinakis
5. Federer

You're probably wondering why there is no #1. That is because Peak Carreno Busta will expose Isner's false dawn.

1. PCB / Hypothetical Injury Free Nadal
2. Isner
3. Del Potro
4. Kokkinakis
5. Federer

Nadal of course on first place.Remember he never loses when he is injury free. Everytime he loses he is injured.

The commies on SkySport were already celebrating Delpo winning the Sunshine Double; even before the first ball was struck.

Anyone know how the total points add up?

There were 116 total points for the match, and the total points won with under 5 shots and with 5 or more shots total 105 points. what category do the remaining 11 points fall under?(There were 17 aces and 4 double faults for the match)

John has to be one of the most rhythm based players on tour right now, when he has a couple of good matches in a row and builds up that momentum in best of three, he is very difficult to stop. All starts with how well he is feeling the serve obviously. Eleven Masters SFs and now four finals at this level is brilliant.

This is why I dont like sport commentators. When one guy wins some title then all say he is gonna win 4 in row or such nonsense.Del potro had good run but it was bound to end. Some even talked how he can become Number one in few months - no chance if he doesnt play the clay season

13,000 posts and only once, about 6 years ago, has my account been put on hold as part of a group cooling off period for 3 days for what TT describes as 'fighting'. ;)

Yes, the moment he beat Federer in IW, they pencilled him in as this season's #1. It's laughable.

Oh my god John, just started watching the match, other players who's form can fluctuate this greatly? Talk about big man tennis....

Vs Zed, he'll get more support. If Busta gets in, it'll be 50/50.

Curious factoid mentioned yesterday...the last Spanish-speaking champion at Miami?

All the way back to Rios in 1998.

Djokovic speaks Spanish

Among non-slam winners? How about his compatriot Sam Querrey? Has those periods where his groundies are on fire and he can take out even the very best before sinking to being average soon after.

I think a lot of the serve/forehand players, where they can just take the racquet out of your hands... John is standing out for me right now, because of some of his matches I saw at the start of the year...

Just finished the 1st set, 19 winners in 7 games lol, 0 for Delpo....

What's John's ranking situation? He must be on the verge of top 10 again.

His 4th masters final, not facing a big 3 member this time. Gotta give him props.

I WOULD INVENT AN AUTOMATIC MOTORIZED TENNIS NET WHICH WOULD CHANGE THE HEIGHT DEPENDING ON YOUR HEIGHT. IF YOU WOULD BE SCHWARTZMAN IT WOULD LOWER THE HEIGHT, IF YOU WOULD BE ISNER IT WOULD TRANSFORM INTO A WALL WITH A NIGHT WATCH.

are you sure? I was for Delpo but Isner was in God mode today - but Potro also didnt played the best match of his life :p

Yeah, I've wached the 1st set re-run now and and Delpo's feet are slow, there's no doubt he was tired. That said Isner is playing some amazing tennis. when he's hitting FH like that he has a legit shot to beat anyone in this scenario (BO3 and higher bouncing HC.

PCB or Zverev will be harder than Delpo though (especially PCB), of that I have little doubt.

Honestly thought Big Johnny was on the decline, not too long ago he was heading out of top 30 I think? Fair play to him, I sadly missed the match but sounded like he played well.

He did indeed! Though "well" is a massive understatement, the boy played his best match ever - probs one of the best matches ever

Finishing the re-run and I can't believe the crowd behaviour, applauding Isner's double fault and lukewarm reaction whenever he hits a winner. I guess Miami has a strong Latin community but still somewhat surprising to see such attitude toward a local player.

Yeah, not surprising that so many hispanics flocked to Del Potro, they're quite bound by sense of community he's an appealing character - Isner's game is usually a lot less captivating than this, today everything happened to be working. Would be good for him to get a little bit more crowd support in future.

What a TB from Isner, one of the highest quality TBs from a single player I've seen. Miami crowd strikes again though. I hope Isner wins the title, he's been sublime pretty much all week, bar Vesely match.

He's hot this week for sure.
Crowd issues are the norm nowadays, thought John handled them very well. Even against Roger a few years back at the US Open I felt he deserved a bit more support, but it's not necessary to have them on your side to play well I guess

Yeah, just got on with it, very cool and level headed today, something which has definitely troubled him in the past. I guess it doesn't matter all too much when you're playing with that much confidence, especially when you have that service game. Targeting Miami crowd here, but really majority of tennis crowds are poor for sure. Adds a little spice to the match, but I'd rather not have the shouting when serving crap and what not...

Man, some of those drop volleys Isner hit in a tiebreak (the 2nd one to finish the match), sweeet touch.

Delpo seemed cool and not too bothered by the loss, he's probably looking forward to getting some much needed rest.

Just watched Isner's interview from the locker room hallway after the match. Really a great guy. His observations on the match were very non-biased, analytical, and spot-on. You can tell the guy is an absolute sports geek and stats nut. I actually think Isner might end up being a color commentator. Extremely well-spoken, nuts-and-bolts, and no uhhhh and ahhhhs while he is speaking.

During that interview, I actually forgot for the moment that Isner was actually in the match. He was talking about it like he watched it on TV or something.

Agreed, I watched his interview after his win over Cilic, is was really nice to listen to. I tried to find a video of his post match SF, though I can't find anything yet.

Edit: There are vids up now, never mind....
